No energy, no focus, no urgency, no hitting......the exact opposite for the Flames.
Protecting Weber in the expansion draft is as dumb as sitting Evans so you can play Armia.
Habs are not winning squat this year, so no need to get too upset, but the bad decisions coming from the new super coach are a bit disconcerting. |

Looking at the rest of the schedule CGY has a much easier schedule than us, they can easily go on a winning streak which I hope not |

habs may have to add some sugar to get them to take weber. a 1st would prolly do it. - Gramps28
imo, there's not enough sugar in town (and god knows we have a lot) for SEA to take Weber.
think about it. you start a new franchise, you can pick who ever you want, some pretty interesting players will be left unprotected by Mtl... and you take 58 y/o Weber??
I don't see it. even with a first.
I could see them pick Price though.

Price has to waive. What the (frank) was that (frank)ing contract getting an NMC also? (frank)ing ridiculous. Did Bergevin offer his nuts in the contract too? |

price has a NMC. They have to protect him unless he waives. can you see either them asking him or he agreeing to it?
i wouldn't take either. i wouldn't want those cap hits on my new team. |

yes he would have to agree to waive the clause. is that really impossible to think he would? he's from BC...
my point was, if I'm Francis, I'd take Price before Weber.
I also think MB will protect both Price and Weber.
if he's still the GM that is. |

sure but why would you saddle yourself with that cap and a NMC clause for your new franchise. especially since he is barely worth 60% of that cap hit?
he would only waive for the draft is my guess and seattle would have to agree to reinstate it before he even considers waiving. |

Finally something of good reference, Poile must have had a gun next to his head when he handed out that contract - habs88888
Nashville got screwed.
They didn't create the contract - Holmgren of Philly did.
Nashville did match the offer sheet, but that recapture penalty did not even exist at the time. The next year it was grandfathered in. OUCH.
Not exactly fair to Nashville brining that in and making it retroactive - can't un-ring the bell.

don't ask me why, apprently Price still has a very very very good reputation around the league. every year he is voted the top goalie by players... it's not impossible some GM think alike. and SEA will also have to reach the floor. I've done the expansion draft on CapFriendly. really not easy to reach the floor with players left unprotected. |

Well, if he's willing to waive and Seattle wants him, you won't need to convince us. I doubt Bergevin can admit that contract was a mistake though. Or he was forced into it by Molson. |

If you look at the remaining schedules until the end of the year I don’t think our playoff spot is locked at all, CGY has a much easier schedule with like 4 games against Van, 4 against us, some against EDM and OTT, 1 against WPG and none against TOR |

its 60% of the upper limit. 48.9M. is what they need to reach. would you take up 20% of it by taking price?
i wouldn't want to pay for other GMs' mistakes if it were me |

the floor is at 60M.
it's 15% of the midpoint (71M)
Upper Limit = $81.5 Million
Midpoint = $70.9 Million
Lower Limit = $60.2 Million |

expansion rules are 60% of the upper limit.
read it for yourself.

again. i ask. would you want to start you franchise with one player taking up 10.5M of the 81.5M upper limit?
I wouldn't start that way by paying for another GMs' mistake. |

me personnaly, of course I wouldn't take Price, but I'm not the Kraken GM. |

MB doesn't have the balls to do anything drastic with Price, Weber and / or Drouin... it would almost be like admitting to mistakes.

The way this team is playing will cost him his job.
I hope someone else is in place before the amateur and expansion drafts.
