"Paging Dr. Miller to the STFU ward....STAT" - Cush29
I understand the frustration, I really do.
But this is something that needs to be maturely discussed between professionals. Leave the (frank)ing media out of this. |

Agreed but I'm struggling to see what a more equitable way to resolve the situation might be? - Cush29
There's a number of ideas that were tossed about.
Every team only gets to count the first X number of games against the Canucks.
Don't play the games, and use winning percentage instead of points.
Lop off first X games of schedule.
God bless the NHL, they didn't actually announce what the formula would be, so of course when they are inevitably going to have to make a decision, nobody would be happy.
My proposal is to move the remaining four games vs. the Senators to after the playoffs start. Neither team is going to make the playoffs, so just have them play out the string. Gary hasn't returned my calls. |

Let the team DRs and trainers figure it out. JT Miller just needs to quiet down. - Santo_44
CBA give players the right to seek second medical opinion using their own doctors in most situations. I assume this applies as well. Miller has every right to talk about his personal situation. |

Why is it that you think they don’t want to play? Lazy? They know they’re going to lose? Not 100%? Players go through this every year. If a bunch of them have not fully recovered from a serious illness and are worried about playing in that condition, we should take them seriously. If not, they could just let McDavid score 30 tomorrow and win the Richard trophy - Canada Cup
I'm all for being safe. I had heard this really affected the families too. Pregnant wives/kids. It was/is still horrible.
I would think the league should objectively decide what to do to keep everyone safe but try to get games in. I think the easiest thing is forfeit the current games missed and just pick up where they were supposed to be. |

It's going to be a bit of a weird grey area, though.
There's probably no medical reasons why they can't play.
Not in game shape isn't a medical reason.
Not mentally prepared isn't a medical reason.
Don't get me wrong, they are both legit reasons, but not really something you can get a doctor's note for. |

Yep - whatever the do will make someone unhappy, but if moving those Sens games to then move the next 4 Canuck games (Edmonton, Leafs x 2 and Flames) creates a much more compressed schedule for any of those 3 teams i think there will be push back from those teams.
Your right though it's a lose/ lose situation all the way around.

I don’t know how sick these guy were and I don’t know how you test their level of recovery and safety. I also don’t know what they’re asking for or what’s feasible s what’s inconvenient: a couple of days |

My guts would disagree with you.......I remember when I could drink a pot of coffee and suffer no consequences. Now 2 cups / 3 max and if I don't stop I pay the price with the old liquid lava evacuation and that's just no fun at all. |

I'm a glass half full guy myself, so while I'm not immune to similar effects, it's Covid, I'm stuck working at home a couple of steps from my own bathroom instead of barbaric public stalls, and constipation never happens |
