I actually don't remember a lot of blood.

I do remember the rule that if the tennis ball gets fired past a net and down the road, the last guy to drop his stick had to retrieve it.

And you'd always get one kid who would try to check you when a ball was on a lawn. Like, dude, you know it's out of bounds - I can't advance it, you have to wait for me to put it back in play. Sheesh.

There wasn’t too much, but it happened, and the result forced the rule. The blood came when the sticks got worn down to thin at the heel and to a point at the toe, that coincided with the absolute best slap shots you could take, the ball flew off the sticks.

There's a private club in Boston - it's about 100 feet from the Massachusetts State Legislature. Founded to raise money for the North in the Civil War.

For some bizarre reason, we have reciprocal privileges. Whenever we go to Boston, we always go for a drink. This place absolutely reeks of old money.

I swear to goodness, in the front parlour, they have a carved ivory tusk on the mantle. A giant franking hunk of dead elephant. It's right there, on full display.

Man, I wish I had old money. I like wearing bowties*. I like drinking. And I don't like working.

Sadly, I can only lay claim to two of the three right now - hell, I guess only one, because I can't really imagine the next time I wear a tie of any kind, which is good because I sincerely doubt any of my dress shirts fit right now.

They just lived a comfortable, beautiful life. Great old apartment filled with art and the kind of furniture you just want to sit in all day. 150 year old farm, skiing in Europe, mom volunteered and subway to school in Harlem every day. They had lived in Paris where the kids were born.

Anyway at 16, the daughter met me when I was a ski bum at Tremblant, ran away and we were together for 9 years. I was more freaked out than they were

My slap shot kinda sucks/sucked. I lived off wristers and top shelf off the toe backhands.

We had a similar rule... If someone got hurt, you had to keep playing, and not go home.. We needed to keep the numbers even..

Yes, 4 of us on our old timers team can still put a wrist shot over the other net, from our end.

We kill ourselves on the bench now, because we start bragging about raisies. I almost fell of the bench one of the last games we played (seems like forever now), when one of the guys started talking about plus minus. “At least we didn’t get scored on that shift”. I was crying.

Pack it in. I would hate for the Leafs to head in there and they get sick... just before the playoffs.

It's 8pm to 5am only in the most problematic areas.

For example, I'm allowed to be outside until 9:30 pm where I live.

Frozen banana slices + tahini + whatever (maple, berry, chocolate, matcha, etc) in the Vitamix for nice cream is the bomb. Tahini is great combined with sweet. A tahini and chocolate reese-style cup would be amaaazeballs.
