Agreed. They played with the rules so much then that it was a joke. Trying so hard to fix something, only to create more issues. Was a joke.

Private Internet Access. Not the most glamorous VPN, nor the fastest. But they don't log or track anything, like some well known VPNs (which they aren't supposed to). I am locked into a good yearly rate. But they are still cheaper than the big dogs.

Thanks. I'll check that out. Games stream okay?

It is scary to think who will be his successor. Remember, there are a hell of a lot more terrible play-by-play announcers than there are good ones. So we could end up stuck with a (frank) nut announcer we hate, and wish we had Sam's dementia back.
- NYRCeph

That's true. I would think Kenny would get the gig, but if it's not him, all bets are off.

Watching NHL TV, there are definitely some awful announcers calling games.

It's radio, but the Nashville guy is the worst. He constantly says things like "they send the puck down there" followed by "it's picked up and moved back to the other end". I'm like who is they and where exactly is the puck? It takes 5 minutes just to figure out what's happening.

Ive had zero issues. I've used them for a couple years now. They updated not too long ago and it is much better than it used to be. Like I said. They aren't the fastest or the most glamorous, but they are secure and private.

I am not a fan of Joe. My wife who is a casual watcher refers to him as "Skippy". I miss JD immensely, but who could take his place? I like Kenny and Dave when I hear them in the truck, even though I think Dave is a tad behind.
Almost feel bad for the Debbies fans with the Screaming Smurf and Dano. Put Salvadore in there, he is at least articulate.

Oh yea. The cliche sayings and repetitive quips make your brain bleed on some of these announcers.
Joe may be being groomed into that spot. Yikes.

That's all I can ask since I cut he cord 9 years ago. I have looked at Center Ice several times over the years, but the NYR blackouts are nuts. I live in West Jersey so shouldn't be affected by Cable Blackouts, but that is the reality even though I don't have cable. If the NHL got their heads out of their asses, stopped bowing to the Dolans, and allowed anyone that signed up to be able to watch every game, I, and many others would pay. So I will continue to stream until that happens.

Yep.. Agreed. There are a couple websites I use for streaming too if I don't pay for NHL tv.

From Sam's Wikipedia page. Anyone have his families number?

Rosen has been told by the Rangers he can continue his position as long as he wishes. He has asked his family to inform him if they feel he is losing his edge due to age but is encouraged that Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully was still considered a top broadcaster when he retired at age 88.

Edit: To be fair (run with it ), they are watching the games from the studio so they aren't able to follow as closely. On that I give them a break. Although I am looking forward to more Blackwell/Blackwood's over the next 3 games.

I was thinking about this the other day. Keeping his brain engaged and active by calling games is likely helping keep his cognitive abilities from dropping off a cliff. He’s obviously slowed down but he’s a legend and he’s still able to call the games well all things considered. That bit on his wiki makes me sad though, he’s aware of it

That is a really good point. I'm sure he has a few years left before it becomes a distraction. Like I said, calling games from the studio has to be really tough.

Anyone notice Miller's play in Dzone on 1/2 boards at 5:20 mark of 3rd period? It was a great play.

Was that right after Fox's takeaway? Think I commented on that.

In his post game interview, David Quinn acknowledged that he didn’t go in the locker-room after the first period. Instead, alternate captain Jacob Trouba talked to the boys into settling down and playing better defense. It obviously worked as Quinn joked, “maybe that’s the new recipe.”

So Quinn acknowledges that Trouba can act like a Captain and take over the locker room, but he won't put a "C" on his chest? Hmmmn..

That's an organizational call, no? Not just Quinny.

Trouba has been playing like the player we traded for. More big hits please!

Every winning team needs a player like him. He’s an absolute beast. An overpaid beast, but a beast nonetheless.

we need Trouba

both Jones and Lundkvist are small and dynamic

in 3 years when there is still a couple of years left on his deal, yeah, he may really start to seem like he's in the way

but he is extremely important to this team

man it would be nice if he could hit the net more though, holy moly
