Agreed. I like his game, but he has struggled to produce too so at a certain point you have to earn your spot. Howden is under less pressure to produce because there's less options to replace him.
Buch is tough for me. I get that inevitably he's gonna get moved to make room for the kids but he's come so far over the past few years it would make me bitter to have developed him for some other team. I think he's a great locker room guy too, everyone seems to love him. - SkjeiStadium
If it weren’t for his play in all 3 zones that he’s developed these last 2 years Buch would be much easier to replace. He’s become such a responsible player that it’s more than just his offensive numbers we’d be losing. The offense can be replaced with guys like Kravtsov Laf Kakko etc, but his play in all 3 zones has really impressed me this year. Let’s say we’re able to get a 1st and prospect for Buch at the draft, then trade Chytil and Nils for Kupari and a 2nd, I’m not sure we’re a worse team plus we’d have a few extra picks and with those ELC’s expiring in a few years for some of these guys those extra prospects coming into the lineup could be huge.

To be completely upfront I'm not overly familiar with Kupari. I know he was drafted the year after Chytil in a similar position, yet he's played 3 NHL games vs Chytil's 172. Is he that big of an upgrade that we'd give up Nils for him? |

We need to get Nils signed. If he gives any sort of doubt that he isn't going to sign over the summer we need to package him for a C. I think we only have until 7/1/2022 to get him under contract or he becomes a free agent so if we can't get him in for next season let's get something for him and move on which pains me to say because I think he's going to be a certified stud in the NHL. |

I just don’t think Chytil is a true center. I like him and think he has a ton of upside, with that said Kupari can start on the 3rd line and projects to be a top 6 center. In his few NHL games he was 11/18 on the dots (61%) and is supposedly very solid in the defensive zone as well. If we had room on the wings for Chytil I’d keep him, but I don’t think he’s the answer to our center problem. |

I want the Rangers to target a player like Roope Hintz. Not sure it's remotely possible but he's looking like a Bergeron type. |

That's fair. I think the face-off percentage is a small sample size but admittedly good numbers. I think if you ask a lot of people in the league they would say Chytil should "start on the first line and projects to be a top 6 center." The guy has skill that you can't teach and the faceoffs/defensive play can be learned as we've seen with guys like MacKinnon for faceoffs and Buch defensively.
Let's even say that Kupari is that much better defensively, and more of a true center. I still go back to giving up a objectively blue chip prospect in Lundkvist to make that upgrade. |

I’m not a big Trouba fan and didn’t really care for the trade. I have said that I understood why they wanted him because the Rangers didn’t have someone like him in the system. I’m don’t like the money or the term but he has been very good for the rangers. It will be hard for him to live up to his contract but I’m more than happy with his play.it may be a interesting off season to see if they move assets for a center or if they are happy with the centers they have |

He was someone I wanted a few years back when he was a prospect, haven’t been following him though. |

To get him into you system just like the Rangers did with Fox. No need to wait if he is your guy. |

I think Nils regardless of how he projects is the odd man out. Trouba isn’t going anywhere and neither is Fox. I doubt they traded up then reacted the way they did with Schneider to not have a spot for him for the next 5 years. |

The bold is the key, Trouba has played well and is a leader on a very blue line, save for him and Smith. If he keeps playing as he has, while he won't love up to that contract, he provides a missing element and is not miscast on the first pair. |

He’s just not that good. Love a guy with his style of play that actually can produce on the 4th line
