Just saw the signing, is Jackson related to Noah? I feel like that would be the most Flyer thing to do.

His older brother...2nd line center, He likes to live between the dots in the slot so that is why I feel he's more Schenn lite vs. Laughton. Laughton seems more apt to perimeter even though he will go to net. This kid lives in the mosh pit.

Not sure how I feel. Obviously having a brother tandem could be exciting, of course if they are decent players, but deep down I feel its either a tactic to get Noah signed or PR. Last time Flyers had brothers on the team it did not go so well.

I look at it this way. On the PP, I see a stagnant PP with no player movement. Slow puck movement and no creativity. I haven't seen many changes either in alignment or strategy. I see this as partly a coaching issue. On the PK, there isn't really much to it in terms of systems or strategy. Almost every team approaches the PK in the same way. So there it's a player and personnel issue. So I would advocate for firing Therrien but keeping Yeo. Yeo coaches the PK.

This is a very reasonable take on thing's, and I'd be ok with it for many reasons. However I believe if the coaching staff is to be changed, it will have to be an all or none type of move, as Therrien is AV'S guy. AV's stated multiple times how close they are and how he had Therrien on board to be on his staff whenever he decided to return to coaching (long before he got involved with the Flyers). He's on record stating he chose Therrien and Yeo due to their experience as head coaches, that they know their roles better than any others and know what's expected. Then, on top of that, AV made the call for Therrien to handle the PP and forwards, which is puzzling to begin with given the roster make-up and Therrien being a defensive guy, prone to dump and chase.....Firing Therrien is a huge blow against AV's personnel decisions.

As far as Therrien goes, he can be a polarizing guy. There's some people that like him and say he's great, but there's alot that haven't had the greatest relationship with him. There's a ton of guys that have played for him in the past that have said they had no idea what their roles/identities/responsibilities were....I know he earned the rep of being a dictator, but he has said he's changed his ways and adapted to communicate better in today's nhl....but you look at the problems/issues that are manifesting with this team, that are correctable yet no corrections are made, it's problematic. It's very fair to say they're struggling to find an identity and direction, and fair to question Therrien's part in that too (along with the other coaches).

Probably a bit of trying to get Noah to declare early. I would think Jackson would end up as an AHL/NHL tweener with 4C potential.

This is not correct, there are hockey trades to be made, with salary going both ways. Like a Reinhart for Konecny, if you cant sign Dougie, go for provy + for Seth Jones, new faces. Manson would be good too. Some people don't want to get rid of "our potential" but lots of times potential doesn't turn out. You keep mentioning Meyers is "basically a rookie" But forget to mention is already in his mid 20's and been a professional since 17-18.

So Reinhart would flourish in the current situation while every other player on the Flyers team can't? Delusional. Sure, they may be able to rearrange the deck chairs. Good luck.
Trading Provorov for Jones just creates another hole you just filled. They need Provorov and someone like Jones. Myers has played 109 NHL games. A full NHL season is 82 games.

So can Seattle pass on that list or do they HAVE to take one?

Have you ever even watched him play? I have heard Laughton comparisons, but i feel he plays more like a poor man's Brayden Schenn. He's intense...hard on pucks despite average size...100mph at all times.

also he was never drafted

I continue to say that both Therien and Yeo need to go...obviously big PP issues. PK even more so. PK is an adjustment issue...4 man box can be more or less aggressive depending on a multiplicity of issues including opponent, time of game, ability to use certain players based on who took the penalty or who was on ice when the penalty was called. Even more pressing is that Therien, Yeo, and AV are all long time coaches with distinct styles. I believe the team would be better off with just one voice from above and two true assistants.
