and thats not an unfair stance. you view him as a piece to keep and id assume youre on board with giving him that next deal in the ballpark of 7 years at 8 per. i dont think thats a bad decision. generally, you search for players like coots rather than trying to trade them.

but if you did look to move him, do you see a lindrosian type haul coming back?

Depends on what you call a bad decision. Based on what we have seen of our youngsters this season, to me, it seems like making a down payment on a mansion and hoping you find a job to be able to live in it.

Then you should have accepted the previous offer and started tearing that mansion down to the studs

I am not rejecting it out of hand. I just want to try for a different outcome first.

There is really nothing to say. Watching a game in stunned silence at how bad this team has become. The Caps even looked like they felt sorry for them. Perhaps Lavy mentioned that this was one of his former teams and he asked his bruisers to leave the sissies alone? I mean, the last two periods looked like an exhibition game. Was there a check thrown by either team? I really think the Flyers should come out for their next game in figure skater skirts. Seems appropriate at this point. Oh, and could someone please give Hayes a drug test to see what he's been smokin. Thanks!

I didn't even watch a minute of this one. Showing zero pride at all. I'd love to see the arena empty the rest of the way showing that they don't have 3k fans interested in this product. Maybe the players and management will get the idea, but I doubt it.

My only worry at this point is that they think this is fixable with out some significant player moves, not move....MOVES and they do another half ass job this summer. This organization is becoming a joke. The players don’t seem to give a poop why should the fans.

They need to add a legit difference maker on defense (and offense if we’re being honest). Sadly I think we’re going to get another Niskanen/Streit type band-aid deal and no other significant changes.

Well, as I said yesterday, they need to understand that they can slip into irrelevance very quickly IMO.

Who’s kidding who....they have been there for 7 years now. Mismanagement all the way through. Poor plans, poor decisions and over hyped drafting. The fact that the organization doesn’t hold all their players accountable to the same level or even CLOSE to the same level has buried this team. Some idiots will get on here and say we have to patient...7 years of crap? Vegas has even been in the league that long....lol ..and yet they find a way to be relevant. Why ? Because they are bold. They realize a prospect is just that .....a (frank)ing prospect. So they have moved prospects for star players and it seems to work for them....and here’s the kicker....there’s a draft EVERY YEAR....so you can go get more prospects.

Don’t you know, our prospects are gold and can do no wrong. Pay no attention to the fact that every other team in the league adds prospects each year too. Ours are gonna be the difference makers tho.

Well we know already what free agent defenseman are available as of right now. What team is going to trade a legit difference maker on defense? How many of them are going to be available? Honestly, we have to look at the environment. You can only bring in so much money due to the cap. It's just the reality.

RH UFA defenseman. This is about it.

Need to turn this leadership group over. You do what you can to unload Jake onto Seattle. Then you trade jvr retaining half salary while taking back a shorter bad contract, or buy him out

Giroux comes off in year. You can extend coots and tell him and Hayes take control of this team. Tell Hayes to grow the (frank) up. It’ll take a while but help will come for them in the form of young wingers. Meanwhile stopgap 1 year deals for veteran wingers will be the way to go. Get this team playing the right way 5 vs 5. And get the PK right. The PP will be bad but it should be less prioritized

Seven times in 42 games they have lost by 5 goals or more. Simply no excuse for that, as that sounds like the stats from the Colorado Rockies or Capitals from the 70's. GM's get huge bucks. Fletcher MUST find a way via trades and a couple FA's similar to what Homer did i believe in 2007. The Leafs traded Clarkson, therefore Fletcher should be able to find a way to make a move for any player. The patience card is not acceptable anymore

After this season Ellis or Ekholm might be available from Nashville, so if true I would try to trade for either Ellis or Ekholm, and I would also sign Hamilton to QB the power play.

Clarkson was able to be traded because he was an LTIR player.

Why Not?? You said yourself that leadership is a problem on this team, what are you holding on to? Jake needs to go. JVR is a liability. Sure, resign G at a much reduced price, but things need to change and change significantly, otherwise don't expect different results.

Why might they be available? How are the Flyers going to fit signing Hamilton and one of Ellis or Ekholm on the cap?

This is where they are..l.not sure what or who...that’s Fletchers job. I just know what we see and it’s embarrassing....not bad...EMBARRASSING. Maybe you have to move a prospect or two with Jake....maybe you do the same with JVR.....Fletch has to get creative...creative like he did with the Nisky deal.

Ok, they were still able to trade Dion Phaneuf at the peak of his down fall with a huge cap number

Given how bad the Flyers played last night, I instead flipped between watching the Rangers-Devils and Bruins-Sabres games, and after watching segments of all three games I can honestly say the Flyers are the worst team in this division, and its not even close! The Rangers have the best chance of catching the Bruins, and with only 14 games left the Flyers will probably end up 6th in the division, but right now they are playing the least competitive of all the teams in the division ... and this is just SAD!

Was that during a flat cap period with many teams already up against the cap? I'm not sure why many aren't aware of the situation currently around the league? With an ongoing pandemic, no fans to a small amount of fans and low revenue league wide. Which means a lot of teams don't have a lot of money right now.

Yes, a big reset is in order here! Again, I have to say I feel bad for AV, these last few weeks are going to be miserable for him.

Worst team in the division? How about in the running for the worst team in the league right now? They are a dead, emotionless team right now.
