He kind of did, he was steering him towards the boards but he saw an opportunity to poke check it and missed, which immediately put him a step behind and it looks like he tried to pivot but he has a bad hip and all
- BetweenTheDots

Seems to me like staying with the body would’ve been the better idea. He could’ve just corralled him gracefully into the corner. Easier said than done I’m sure, but it seems like it would’ve been the safer play IMO.

I agree with this, when watching the replay its got to be really hard to resist when the puck is right in front of you, he actually reaches past the puck to poke check it

Ya, I usually get upgraded about 90% of the time. This year only 50% at best.

So I guess that puck in the face has given Boquist concussion symptoms.
That sucks kid has been playing really good.

I have no problem with the org being extra cautious. Headache is considered concussion symptoms and after getting hit in the face with a puck seems the natural course of events. Hopefully it's a mild headache and face soreness

Agreed. If it is an actual concussion, I have a hard time thinking that he'll have a long playing career.

Hopefully JC is running a drill where the puckside dman who's 75 feet away from the forward doesn't go to the boards because the forward with the puck does and opens a passing lane for the other forward behind that same dman.

I do not mind drafting more dmen in round one since the Blackhawks don't play tough enough hockey. Our promising dmen are likely to accumulate concussions in part due to over zealous checkers. The evidence is available; just look back as the season following our last Cup. I want first and foremost a deep talented blueline. To maintain such we need to keep the stable full of top thoroughbreds . Even with greater compete and more youngsters filtering in who will offer sand and grit + some nastiness, too many dmen get concussion or banged up. So keep the stable full.

That’s the way I saw it.

Imagine if Stillman had realized Laine was going to cut across the goal and turned in to step into him?!?! That would have been a seismic hit!

- paulr

Stillman tried to get over but he couldn't leave too soon and leave the back door open.

The minute dinky took the angle I was cursing.

Boqvist is the only one with concussion issues.

That was my offense. Though somehow my timeout was 3 months vs 3 years. They liked you better.

Big "if"..... hopefully it is not the case. But I agree with you and he wouldn't be the first or the last having his career cut short.

Which is pretty ironic because I wouldn't have any bans if Eli wasn't a dink.

Well, one was deserved. I called Truegrit a name. That one I deserved. The rest were bullpoop. I got a 3 day ban for posting a laughie.

Your right on that I still believe the unnecessary punishment he took by being rushed through Jr. has left him vulnerable to concussions and a premature ending to a promising hockey Career

With JC having his career ended because of concussion, he is pretty sensitive to them and will always err on the side of caution.

Wow that's harsh bows.... I've had my fair share of time being banned as well. I got banned for several months for putting laughing emojis on Mccann's blog... Talk about sensitive

Bet TrueGrit didn't mind as much as Eli, in those days, I think he was used to being called names
