I came down the elevator at the Copley Westin with some Mariners players.
Bunch of old guys and kids ran over asking me for my autograph.

- AGalchenyuk27

did you give it to them?

and i'm talking about the autographs in the case of the kids.

what? what did they say?
- Pat1993

Hard to remember really, was over 3 decades ago but it wasn't so much what they said, just their demeanor, really making it seem as if I was bothering them... on the flip side, Rusty Courtnall is a real nice guy.... only Hab I met as an adult is Karl Dykhuis, had drinks with him at a wedding

I get that fans can probably be really annoying at times, but giving an attitude to kids is kinda weak lol

It wasn't a good idea and I'm somewhat surprised it even made it out of the discussion stage. I'm curious if there were options they decided were clearly inappropriate for kids. Candy heroin, just put it on a spoon, let it melt and enjoy your nirvana

we used to have gum ones that were wrapped in paper and all. if you blew into it, it would blow some of the sugary stuff out the other end and it looked like smoke.

then you took the wrapper off and chewed the gum for the 14 seconds that it had any taste and go right back to the pack for a fresh one. chain smoking!

I'm not that surprised, back in the day people were barely aware of how bad smoking could be... you were allowed to smoke in hospitals, that's kinda (frank)ed up loll

oh I'd definitely ask to have a jersey signed if it's a player I really like, and the context allows it.

My old man was literally smoking in the delivery room when I was born. First flight I ever took my dad sat me on the floor so I'd be below the level of smoke haze captured in the cabin

as long as we all had ring pops and jolly ranchers we're all good.

you know what was terrible? the little candy dots on the strip of paper. i don't know if they're still around but you had to peel it off the paper and you inevitably popped them in your mouth with paper still stuck to the back of them. those were bullpoop.
