So Bergy really tried to bring DeAngelo in? Not sure what to make of that.
- obie

Meh, it's coming from Dreger alone, and nobody else reported on that. When you look at the way they handled the Kassian situation, I'm thinking Bergevin doesn't like drama around his team.

Remember, Habs were also supposedly interested in Voynov as well. Reporters like to make themselves look interesting.

We need to keep Tatar.

Yeah, I thought the same thing yesterday.

I liked Bergevin's sarcastic answer concerning Mete yesterday...

-reporter: so were there teams around the league that made any offers for Mete?

-Marc: yes, I was offered a 1st rounder but I decided to put him on waivers instead

-reporter: so, I guess that's a "no"..?

-Marc: yeah, that would be a no.

Andrew Berkshire @AndrewBerkshire

Lots of Habs fans thinking this was hilarious yesterday and that Bergevin was dunking on Arpon, but listen to who should actually be embarrassed.

An NHL GM failed to create a market for a 22-year-old defenceman with three successful seasons in the NHL under his belt.

Of course

Part of being a sports fan in salary cap world's is wanting players to take less to play for the team a fan cheers for. But truth is it's a crazy selfish expectation that those same fans wouldn't even consider for a second if the shoe was on the other foot. I've always believed a player should try to get as much as they can any chance they can because team's will move on from the player the second it is advantageous for them. It's a business, players should treat it as such

the "Danault saga" and his contract kinda comes to mind...

He might want to revisit his definition of successful.

They could use Armia's money to make it happen. I know the guy is big, protects the puck and all that...but he has no vision and his decision making with the puck is really slow.

Can't seem to be able to stay healthy either.

Danault, to me, is another story.

I really want him to stay.

But I'm not willing to give him more than 4.5M.

So if he wants more than that, let him walk.

Poehling has looked pretty damn good in the AHL, despite having 4 young centres not being ideal, I'm fine with it.

And hey, KK is getting pretty good at that faceoff thing. over 60% again yesterday.

I would say give Danault 3 year deal at 5MM max if he doesn’t take it let him go the youngsters should be matured by then and we can then go find someone else or within the system

I remember when he was ripping his shirt over Rafael Diaz.

The guy represents what I hate about advanced stats people. Their way, or no way, and they always have a condescending tone whenever you don't agree with them.

I'd be ok with that. Considering the short term.

But my guess is, he'll want more years and that means the cost needs to go down.

I think MB needs to have a conversation with him to see if they can settle on his vision on the team and where he sits Danault fitting in, I doubt that was done back last summer

Well considering the offer Danault rejected in the summer, Was a conversation necessary.

Clearly he saw himself bigger than he is.
