For a chess show, there is actually some decent writing and clearly they made some use of people who have actually played chess.

Of course they still have the ridiculous situation where someone puts themself into a position to be forked and their opponent is portrayed as brilliant for making the move to fork them. It works fine for people who have never played chess. Looks comical to people who have.

Apparently that show caused a lot of people to try to take up chess.

I wonder if that lasted longer or shorter than the people who decided to take up golf last year. Golf is still the only thing you can do in our society apparently, so it is winning, so far. Wait til people realize how much money it costs to be constantly frustrated.
