I guess the question is:

Was Campbell on a hot streak or playing up to expectations?

I'd lean towards the former, and while he has been not good last couple of games his ability probably lands somewhere in the middle of when he was good and when he's bad.

I think the question with Campbell should be how much can you play him without fatigue being a thing.

Other than a small stretch in LA he's been a backup forever. He was hurt for quite a stretch. How long can you play him like a workhorse starter who only gets rest on back to backs. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think we questioned whether he could handle the starter's load.

I was hoping that he would show he could, and you don't want to panic too soon, but the narrative is sounding like Andersen also, a lot of "not his fault".

He was in a weird position in the net there, somewhere between playing the pass and the shot. That goal should not go in.

... and is he injured? Hate to say it, but should this have been a Hutchinson game?

Is it wrong to be concerned over the last couple games from Campbell.

Leafs cave them in all period and then poor goaltending again.

- Aetherial

We sure love our extreme reactions. He was a bid deep in the crease but it wasn’t really clear that Rielly had the passer. He still could have been out but poor goaltending is an overstatement

THe rebuild already started and the core is Foligno, Noesen, Rittich and Hutton
- TheMussel

Nice, building from the net out with heart. Finally a proper rebuild. Now we just need to get Dougie as GM and Wendel coaching.

Id like to think he's passed the injury thing... But how durable is the guy to begin with? He's just not a guy that's experienced with stretches of 3-4 starts a week.

It he's gonna be the guy that needs to do that come playoff time there's no point grinding him now. So maybe... 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah because the ONE terriying thing about the Leafs this year going into the playoffs is the goaltending. It is tough to not expect it to collapse.

The Leafs have dominated the North this year, except that one stretch, where Andersen was horrible and they lost a bunch of games they should not have.

If I'm in net right now, I don't know what the (frank) Rielly is going to do... Ever. I'm definitely not making snap decisions based on the assumption hes going to do what he should do.

So why jump to Campbell is injured conclusions based on a bounce off Gally’s skate, an open shot from the slot and a slight error on a tough play.

It’s possible that he’s a good goalie who’s not a god. We will need good goaltending not godlike goaltending.

Suzuki hit more spaces on my bingo card.

My daughter and I talk about this often.

Pre-tape them.

And ask them questions unrelated to hockey.

Favourite foods. Toppings on pizza. Pets. Vacations.

Hell, even hockey-related questions they can give answers to: pre-game routines, pre-game meals, ask them about their equipment, favourite away games.

I have an IQ of 82, and I can come up with this poop.

How can the quadrillion dollar sports broadcasting industry not figure this out?
