I think Yzerman wins this trade based on getting a 1st and a 2nd round pick. I don't know enough about Vrana to say he's better or worse than Mantha is. Mantha has an incredible shot and a big body. When he's on his game he can't really be stopped.

Problem is that most of the time he's a floating perimeter player who doesn't work hard enough. I knew Yzerman was angry with Mantha's underwhelming game this season. He expected a big year out of Mantha after he signed him to that big contract extension.

I figured Yzerman would trade him this summer. But he obviously was given an offer he couldn't refuse. It's always if, if, if with Mantha. But the inconsistency and injuries added up to Mantha being traded.

A combined 16 picks in this years/next years draft in the first 4 rounds should give Y plenty opportunities to make some awesome trades. Wouldn't surprise me if he's a decent chessplayer

People do still have lives and responsibilities. You can be unhappy with the requirement to isolate while simultaneously understanding why it is necessary.

My first quarantine last April, I quit smoking cigarettes after 21 years. Longest I've ever been quit by a landslide.

I've probably been through at least 5 quarantines now, with that and unable to spend money like before I'm sure wife and I are going to Europe for a month when this is done. There's nothing to do but put money away.

That and my cooking game has gotten insanely good. There's been a lot of pros. Still makes me grumpy though, can only do so much in the house before its Xbox and naps.

If there's ever a year to punt the draft... Its probably these next covid ones. The lack of junior players playing is probably going to make them a total crapshoot.

Ferraro was interesting just now (not on smoking). He compared Leafs deadline to TBL last year. Said Dubas had a very good team and went targeted shopping, very similar to Brisebois. Likes the moves. Likes that nobody moves out. They asked who else in the North had a good deadline. He said Ottawa and Calgary. Said he can’t understand why the Jets didn’t do anything.
