In the event that a Pens/Caps series happens in the playoffs this trade helps the Pens more than any trade or possible trade the Pens could have made at the deadline. The Pens can deal with Mantha.

About the only thing I can say about the Carter trade is that it feels weird that we didn't overpay for a player, even if we lose the '22 second (SCF appearance, 50% of games) and the '23 third (50 GP).

I have learned through his tenure here that while I’m not super impressed with his total body of work at previous spots, Brian Burke is eminently likable. No wonder he’s one of the most well plugged in guys in the league.
