I always wanted to see a team fully embrace this. FULL Rebuild, just be a hub for dead money, bad contracts, facilitating trades, or overpaying FA's on 1 year deals with the sole intent of flipping them at the deadline with retention

Aside from getting top picks for a putrid on ice performance, I wonder what could be stockpiled in future picks and assets. really put the focus on developing your high picks too rather then rushing them to the big club

When the time is right, go all in on big name FA's, your young players on their ELC's/bridge deals and a steady stream of talent in the pipeline

What I think you're thinking of is how extra cap space accrues. You actually don't get to bank cap space while using LTIR.
