Smith and Jones are a different bread of hockey player. IF they re-sign smith, than my guess is Hajek. Ranger's brass is much higher on Smith's play than Hajek.

I think that was the compromise, Rangers said we'll burn a year of ELC but you need a deal with no bonuses

Ranger fans should be very excited for Zac Jones. He’s excellent. Not Adam Fox excellent, but still excellent. Creeping up on the same tier as Lundkvist, and a better prospect, IMO, than Schneider. Wouldn’t bet against him becoming a good top four D.

so we have like 8 top 4 defensemen on the roster or in the system. If i was another team during the draft and the rangers came calling to trade up for a pick i'd turn them down and try to figure out who they were going to take
