He should! Start him out on 4LW, then let him get a few shifts at 4C. Then maybe a shift or 2 at 3C or even PP2C.

The should put Laf at Center on PP2

I was hoping a trade would have happened just to move another body from the 4th line equation

Pretty crazy that we're at the point of tweaking the fourth line and that's about it

I think we can all agree that we don't need to see any more of Howden. I hope they just give Barron all of the minutes they would normally give to Howden and see how he performs.

If I could post a gif of the "agreement" scene from the escape room episode of It's Always Sunny, it would fit perfectly here. We are agreed!

Get ready for another month of "why is Blackwell getting more minutes than (insert young player)"

By next year Kreider will be our worst top 9 winger...... not a bad problem to have.

he didn't practice today, he seems to be playing hurt

I felt like he got hurt on the play that gave him a penalty shot last week

Id actually be curious to see (if he can play C) Kakko there. Moving Kakko there will aleviate our logjam on RW. Because I see LAF on the top line LW pretty soon, dropping Kreider to LW3. However if Kakko has any C chops, that removes someone in the way and frees up Krav and Buch to stay in the top 6.

On the flip side, if we move LAF to C, that opens the door to Chytil to get one more shot, this time at wing, to see if hes got anything there. Theres a lot of options here, if the team and players are on the same wavelength.

Ha! Yep, that's the scene. There's another part where they're all holding the pipes and pounding the table, while Charlie is saying" So tis agreed" or something like that.

One of Kakko, Laf or Krava should be able to play C, imo

NYR were willing to mutually terminate Tony DeAngelo’s contract to allow him to pass through waivers and sign as a free agent. Montreal believed to very interested as early as this weekend. However, DeAngelo opted not to accept. He will be bought out of his contract this summer.

I don't think so.

He would've forfeited $6.3M in salary had they mutually agreed to terminate the deal.

Instead, he'll wait it out and lose $3.53M. Putting aside the rest of his issues for a moment, I don't think anyone will blame him for saving $2.76M in compensation.

You're probably right but it'll be a long time before he plays a meaningful game.

No doubt about that.

I don't like the guy but I can't really blame him for not just tossing that much money in the garbage. Plus he may have more suitors in the offseason when more teams are looking to add and that might help drive up his price.

It'll be an interesting story to follow, that's for sure. I'm curious to see how many teams would want him.

He’s only 25 and has been voted off the island for 3 nhl teams, one before he ever played a game. Not to mention the incident in juniors. The fact that he put up the numbers he did and still got the stanky boot speaks volumes. He’ll get a 1 year prove it contract at best. Maybe no one will want the headache. Who knows

Yea I wasn't speaking to anything in his past. Strictly just re: declining to mutually terminate the deal so he doesn't forfeit any more money than he has to.

Apparently there's one team willing to take a chance on him, I'm willing to bet there's more though. Personally, I wouldn't touch the guy with a ten foot pole.

He will take the buyout and sign for a league minimum contract on a team that will be willing to take a chance on him. Think of it this way: He will be Jack Johnson for another team next season.
