How long did it take the Bruins to make trade(s) after an embarrassing loss?

Is Fletcher awake right now? I have a feeling he watched Golden Girls with a warm glass of milk and tuned in about 9 o’clock.

I don't see Laughton getting a 1st round pick for a return based on other deals I'm seeing.
- MJL

Some out there have compared a potential Laughton return to the Foligno deal based on stats. I don’t see it as a fair comparable, but there some out there looking at it that way.

Well if he is traded, I hope I'm wrong and they get a 1st round pick. I really don't want Laughton traded but it would e nice to have another 1st rounder.

Was Hextall around when he was a flyer

Yes Hextall was a scout with the Flyers from 1999 to 2005, and then he moved to the Kings in 2006.

Agreed. I’m ok with shipping him out for a first. I don’t want to move him for a mid-late round draft pick for the sake of making a trade. 1st rounder? Different story.

I agree keep the band together. At some point they will find success.

He has got to be the Flyers best tradable asset at this point, if I were Fletcher I would hold out all the way to 2:59pm for a high pick.

He should be moved no matter what. Take what you can get and move on. Then again he is a core player who has been part of all this success recently.

Get Johnny Hockey just to mix it up.

Still add defense but we need an injection of skill up front.

Be prepared to be disappointed today that Fletch doesn't trade our bad players with high cap hits for the other teams good players with low cap hits.
- MBFlyerfan

After yesterday's magnificent triumph, it's only fair today is a disappointment.
The Flyers must stop spoiling their fans.

Man. I wonder how they’d be able to get that to work really. I’m sure he’d be up for a change. Calgary is a mess.

I know Hall having a pretty bad year, but you’re gonna tell me another contender couldn’t beat Boston’s offer?

Probably cap issues.

playoff teams in the East loaded up last night, the Islanders, Penguins and Bruins with significant trades last night and last week. For the Flyers, they must be sellers at this point, but if they pry Ellis away from Nashville, they should do it, because it has to about next year now.
- jd250

I’m sure the Caps will pull off something extraordinary today. They have a ton of assets to make a splash.

I would be shocked if they don’t get to the final four. Could not be more setup for them.

I believe they will lose in the final four. Of course they will probably win the cup just to give an extra jab to Flyers fans.

- mickel25

Winnipeg is the only thing stopping them. Thing is too, they are a run and gun team. Unless you are going to get matthews nylander Marner et al to play some d, they prob aren’t going to win.

When they play Tampa or colorado in the 3rd round, they are going to be in for a rude awakening imo.

Unless it’s a 1rst rounder....then I don’t bother.....but there’s more Chucky has to consider....does he view Laughton as a Flyer next year ? Both in player and cap hit. The Flyers are probably toast this year....so now are they going to say take what we can get?...you know like bottom feeders do every trade dead line.

Buff retained half his salary. It’s also Buffalo, I’m sure they would have happily taken back a contract to sweeten their return. But I’m thinking it’s more teams aren’t interested in him.

The icing was so lackadaisical. Very lazy play. Another two strides, and Giroux is at center ice.
- PLindbergh31

I would guess that the Flyers lead the league in icing the puck. You would think with their seeming inability to finish odd-man rushes and breakaways that the forwards would close their gaps with the defenseman.

Burke is the GM right now not Ronald.

Yes but I'm talking from Flyers and not Pens
Just wondering why players left after being acquired in a trade
And I mentioned Hartmann Pitlick and Grant as example

I asked this the other day and didn't get many answers. I'll ask again.....

outside of faceoffs, what do the Flyers do well?

Stock bad prospects.. yet haha

I can't think of many things they have done well overall this season. They've completely fallen apart when comparing them to last season.

Chucky bet on his core this year. It’s pretty simple....it let him down, much like it’s done for the last decade.....it’s the Flyers version of ground hog day. It is interesting to here the organization talk about how good they are and how surprised they are? The only thing smart out of Fletchers mouth this year is he doesn’t think the mix is right....no poop Sherlock.
