I’m torn on Laughton. I think you could get a first absolutely. But he’s also the type of player every team wants come playoff time, we groomed him, he’s a guy you want on your team moving forward. But if we don’t have a chance to win, do you let him sink with the ship or go for the cup?

I'm as dedicated Flyers/hockey fan as there is. We watched the Masters over the Flyers games this weekend. Just checked on the Flyers when there were commercial breaks. That's scary that I'm so indifferent to this team now. I just don't need to ruin my afternoons/nights by watching these sad sacks and getting pissed off. There appears to be no leadership on this team and I've been saying this through many different coaches. I've never seen a team cave like these bunch of skirts do(with a little adversity). Hayes looks like he doesn't care and people need to stop giving Hart a pass. His save pct. is a joke and that's a very telling stat. This is the softest Flyers team in the history of this organization and I have no confidence in Fletcher to fix it cause I think he is a zero! As in I haven't liked one of his moves yet. I was lukewarm about the Hayes signing, but with each passing game I like that signing less and less.

It’s not a passing thought. Hockey blows now. I was same way. Would be so excited when they’d be espn or hnic and heaven when center ice came out. Even if couldn’t watch a game(very rarely) would watch archived game. Even if it was weeks later. Definitely moving to check in occasionally and watch playoff hockey especially good if philly not stinking up games. Other teams so much better to watch. Sadly. That’s how it is with nba now. Actually down to just watch some of the finals. Just not worth it anymore. You’re not alone. They ruined the game. Never thought I’d say that

How long did it take the Bruins to make trade(s) after an embarrassing loss?

Is Fletcher awake right now? I have a feeling he watched Golden Girls with a warm glass of milk and tuned in about 9 o’clock.

This trade has nothing to do with their Loss. They are missing 4 of their NHL Dmen and both their goaltenders.... You dont lose 8-1 and think, we need a scorer.....

Missing 4 dmen and two goalies and still ahead of the Flyers. As pathetic as it gets.

How much ground have the Flyers made up?

How do you rate the icing, lost face off, bodied the (frank) up by Jeff Skinner sequence by the Flyers Captain this afternoon?

The icing was so lackadaisical. Very lazy play. Another two strides and Giroux is at center ice.

I actually told my kids during the game that I'm not sure I actually like watching hockey any more. (Lifelong flyers fan, watch all flyers games since center ice came out). Kids said they've never heard me talk like that.
I remember when I had this realization with NBA in the 90's, and when I had this day with NFL, and both times that was it for me.
I never thought this would ever happen with the Flyers. I hope I just had a bad day.
But it feels like the salary cap just killed the game. Enforced mediocrity. Can't keep young players. Can't shake things up with trades. Noosed to vets rather than just paying them not to play. The whole thing is paper GM stuff.
Hope I'm not done, but frankly I'd be relieved not to make the playoffs.

They are finally getting their turn. When half the team had covid, we had to travel across the country to play them and got creamed. I’m glad to see them getting their medicine. If only the flyers didn’t suck so bad, perhaps we’d have been able to pressure them for a playoff spot. Great. Carter with the pens I see. Hexy is getting the gang back together l.

Bruins got humiliated tonight - your dream may not be over.

Guys please!!! Let's stop dreaming. This team is not play-off material.
They would not win a play-off serie against Bufallo

This franchise is turning to joke and turns generations of fans to frustration!!!

The leadership deserves spitting in face from public and fans ceremony on rocky steps!
So they finally understand what being humiliated means!!!!

Yeah. Any team that has a must win game vs buffalo at home when they have a depleted squad as well, doesn’t deserve to make the playoffs. Even if Boston completely craps the bed the rangers will get in.

I agree 100%. Fletch will continue to sit on his hands today, AV will continue to roll out any and everyone not named Joel Farabee on the power(less) play, and lifelong, die-hard Flyers’ fans will continue to yearn for the days when this team had an identity and a clear vision of what it takes to be relevant.

Regardless, the penguins have taken off and we’ve sunk to the depths. One year left for carter on that deal. They’re in win now mode so it makes sense. I can’t see any moves by fletch.

At what cost? The Flyers need cap space to add a defenseman.

I still don’t think the leafs have strong enough d to compete with Tampa and the big teams but will make the semis being in that pathetic division.

Bill,

Any insight or forecast into today for CF? Is there any potential for a significant move for the future such as trading away a JVR or Jake to a team with Cup aspirations and plenty of cap like Florida? Or is today simply a day to get mid to late picks for expiring contracts with another promise of a “bias for action” in the offseason?
