Remember Laughton played very well last playoffs. I expect that if moves can be made to fill the void on d, we might see a better performance next year. I really want a hockey trade to happen to change the core dynamic along with getting that dman.
Now I’m ready to watch the playoffs and I’m sure we’ll see hextall and the penguins parade around with another cup. Should be fun . - Hextall271
Offseason. It's coming. They'll start stripping away at it.
Pittsburgh isn't beating Tampa, Colorado, and might not even get passed NYI. |

Tweet from SanFillipo. I guess someone within the Vegas organization was with the Wheat Kings when Patrick was playing. |

Never say never. Just ask the leafs fans. The parade has been mapped out. |

Perfect sly-tank move. |

I don’t they will mortgage the future to do it, they have enough assets to change it up. The win now refers to when the new core hits 27-28, so Provy, Myers etc hitting their prime but it should start next season, makes the moves to make it possible - wcorvette
2-3 years away from being 2-3 years away. That's the teams new motto.

A GM makes trades...failing too do that leaves you in the position they are now in. Again having no contact with him calls for me to infer...I believe he felt the younger players would move up and that Gus would take the roster spot left open by the Nisk retirement. It was an awful decision leading to a disaster of a season. I do understand why he wasn't aggressive at this trade deadline, but if he goes into next season standing pat it'll be another bad decision - DANCER
Not a good year for the GM....one can be accepted, but if this is the same result next year then Chucky maybe wasn’t the right guy to take the Flyers forward. |

We’ve seen top to bottom this team ain’t it (this season). Why make trades in season as a knee-jerk move? Teams make bigger impact trades more in the offseason |

The Leafs are the absolute last team I want to see winning the cup. If I gotta listen to 1975 talk they better still be hearing 1967. |

Oh I agree. I’m surrounded by these idiot fans. The league has done everything they can to give them an advantage this year. |

Ding dong, Gus is finally (frank)in gone! This gives Morin absolute certainty to see time the rest of the way.
I think Raffl being traded is long overdue. The loyalty was ridiculous. I’m glad Patrick is still here. I think next season will be more telling than this season after all he’s been through.
Blown away there is zero market for Ghost. - SuperSchennBros
There will be more of a market in the offseason for him.

Was the Detroit/Washington a deadline deal? Or was it a hockey trade where both teams feel they are improving themselves? |

So, what was the point of moving Raffl and Gust? Just to get them off the books for next year? |

Myers is young. This season is his first bad season. Prior to this season, he always played decent but still hasn’t seen a full season.
Unless we’re making room for Seth Jones, there is no reason to give up on Phil Myers based on this season alone. That’s like giving up on Patrick because he had Migraines and Lindblom having cancer. We’ve seen all three guys play better but this year, they’re young and they’ve struggled. All apart of the process. If I’m not mistaken Myers has seen injuries too. He came back to a game that looked like could have been a bad shoulder injury a week ago. - SuperSchennBros
I’m not giving up on the kid but he had a very bad season, the team was bad and part of the problem but he was a disaster and need to be much better. Someone mentioned that him playing on the top pair derailed his season. He played 5-6 games with Provy, that had nothing to do with him having a bad season |

I am really glad we kept laughton but why didn't they wait until the off season so we don't have to protect him in the ED?
Can someone fill me in? - Bob Habib
Afraid Laughton would leave via free agency?

I don’t get the Myers hate tbh. He basically played one full season altogether, and when he was consistently slotted properly ie second pairing with a consistent partner he excelled. He has regressed this year but who hasn’t? I think the team is smart enough not to give up on him, sanheim or provy. - Hextall271
It's just Flyers fans being Flyers fans.
I hope your last sentence turns out to be true. |

Gus is addition by subtraction. Raffl is irrelevant. There's been worse than him but there have been far better. |
