So if nothing changes(except Laughton signed) is this the protection list?
Forwards:
Giroux
Hayes
Couturier
Konecny
Laughton
Patrick
Lindblom
Defense:
Provorov
Sanheim
Myers
Goalie:
Hart - J35Bacher
Probably, I have a hard time seeing them adding JvR or Voracek to the protection list other than loyalty...but that would be stupid.

Mete would have been nice. Really mobile two-way dman. No idea what happened in MTL. Kinda shocked to see him hit waivers yesterday.

Provorov took such a big step forward last season. Sanheim was on steady year on year improvement. *Poof* - Tomahawk

Trade deadline doesn't mean you have to make a trade out of panic, actually it's one of the best times to make deals that can help you in the future.
Like Black Friday...
Sure many shop for the holiday gifts, but it is also a great time to get things you need for a better price. No different.
Well at least a smart GM would use that time in a meaningful way. - Glak18
Is Black Friday the same as it was 10 years ago?
Things have changed. Covid came. It happened. The flat cap could be here for another year or 2. I am sure Fletcher is looking at all the moves. But almost all teams will wait for the offseason when they have time if they are to make bigger impact trades. |

Is Myers technically a rookie again next year or can he handle a second pair role? |

Looking at the trade activity on the NHL network. Not a whole lot of quality players moving with the exception of Hall to the Bruins. I wouldn't be surprised to see Raffl moving on but other than that any major moves by Fletch likely this summer. Only good news is that this season is virtually done. Hoping for some interesting playoff games. Flyers should take a look at their young guys over the last 15 games |

He’s been on the block for a bit....I suspect the entire league could have had him for next to nothing before he was placed on waivers. |

Good list. Who do you think they pick? I say Raffl. Which is why I feel they should have moved him today. I think they could get probably get a 4th for him.

I don't think Fletcher feels any loyalty to needing to protect them. There contracts might keep them protected unless Seattle thinks one of them could be a good offense player to help build with early on. |

I don’t like the idea of extending a depth player in Laughton with a flat cap and glaring needs on defense pending. If they’re going to extend him it should be a handshake agreement after other needs are addressed. |

I don't know. I could Aube-Kubel, kind of like Bellemare was. I could see possibley JVR or VOracek if they need some player to help the team offensively early on and also they do need some players with cap to get to the floor. |

I wasn't always a Laughton guy but I have changed on him. i think he is a solid player to re sign and keep around. Plays PK and even stregnth. plays center or wing. Can play on any line. Can play a heavy game and really this year, i haven't found many game where i feel he is a problem or making glaring errors.
I think he is a core piece moving forward, especially with Frost coming off injury and Patrick still a question mark. |

How many games did Myers actually play with Provy on the top unit, 5 ? Less? - ClaudeFather
I was wondering this same thing! I know CF talked in the offseason about trying him on the top pair with Provorov, but that the experiment didn't last long. They've also tried Ghost and lately it's been predominantly Braun. None of them have seemed to work and Provorov's play this season has been subpar. Shouldn't he be making players around him better if he's the #1 defenseman many believe he is? Still not sold on him as a franchise defenseman

It didn’t last long at all lol the kid couldn’t handle his own role that was the problem. You still have to have someone capable of playing against the top players every team, ghost is not that guy, Braun did his best , we don’t have a top pair partner for him. Didn’t help that he sucked too. |
