I’m seeing there is strong interest from contenders for Laughton per Craig Custance. Sounds like flyers are trying to decide to move him or not. Sounds like they could get a solid pick for him if they decide to move him.

No.

This team still has Snyder DNA.

Wholesale change is needed.

Fletcher’s big “move” today will be to send a late round draft pick to the Caps for JVR’s brother.

His coming out party.

He was DOMINANT.

Snider was as bad as any. He always struck me as excessively loyal and excessively impatient.

If there was any redeeming feature, it might be that his mistakes stemmed from too much heart and not too much head.

I think overall Snider was a good owner. I'm sure it ate at him that he had to watch 6 Stanley Cup Finals defeats after the early success.

He wanted to win and would do anything to win, and that is all you can ask for from an owner. Unfortunately I think he was loyal to a fault, and didn't do enough to bring in outside perspectives.

Oh I agree. But there is a huge chunk of the fanbase that has an unwavering emotional non-result oriented attachment to the club. Give them a little daily excitement and some facade of competitiveness and they will come. You don't need to build nothing.

Once you have that, why would you bother with a wholesale change that will cost your bottom line for years? Ride those lowjacks.

He surely was. At one time.

But his time/philosophy had passed long before he left this earth.

The Chuck Fletcher presser and the Dave Scott interview bothered me. Their talk seemed to suggest that this is fundamentally a good club and needs tweaking.

I wish the Flyers fan base was like the Sixers. Everyone tuned out during the epic tanking/rebuild, which is the longest of all sports franchises in history. Arena used to be 25% full. That tuning out gave the club the space to build. They were lucky enough to get owned by dudes who played the long game.

I am as bad as any. When a Flyers game is on, it is hard for me to forget about it.

I’m the same. I won’t not watch. The once proud organization is being run into the ground of mediocracy. I don’t mind the losing ....it’s how they lose. There is never an excuse to not show up for games continually and have the organization not react. It’s embarrassing.

Remember when everyone would complain about Snider being too involved and (frank)ing things up? Bet those people wish he was still alive. This organization as we knew it died with him.

Wish he was alive, yes. Wish they would be buyers and go for it? F@ck no.

Well, how exactly would you have had them react? They have benched multiple players for games. They have waived Ghost. They have played Morin in the front and back. They have given Hart a week off.

Their leeway for reaction is quite limited you know. What exactly can they do?
