I think people forget Staal was early but more or less a deadline move. I'm not here to defend MB but nobody was trading a top four d, so ultimately I'm pretty content with his deadline efforts. The team is what it is

this team has morphed into the same thing it does every single season at the 30-40 game mark: a slow, plodding team that has a miserable time not just scoring goals, but just generating half-decent opportunities. it takes so much out of them to score 1-2 goals. so any moves made with offence in mind is fine with me.
