Such as putting Staal on 2nd line? I think that was a test granted I wouldn’t have done that if it was up to me. The good thing is he does make adjustments right away if he feels there is a need. Not saying we are contenders yet but we do have a good mix of players that won the cup vs young guys so will see where we go

things can change rapidly, had the habs continued to play the way they were playing during the first 10 games of the season or closer to that they'd probably be considered as contenders right now... so while adding a top 4 D or a top 6 forward wouldn't instantly make them "contenders", it most certainly would help them in getting their poop back together
