Hey, I ain’t the nickelback fan in the family. I plead innocence.

Next time just go with dime, quarter or loonie, nickel just makes it to easy.

That was asked in today's presser. Logistically Podz will have to arrive in Vancouver April 16 to do his 2 week quarantine. I'm not sure if KHL players get the 7 day exemption. He can then wait watching team vids on systems play and role.

If not picked for Worlds then he'd be in prime position to sign and start playing May 1.

Two weeks of games in packed schedule with an extra body that can adjust to NHL play is a good benefit.

I thought someone said he was under contract with his KHL team until April 30th? I wonder if the Canucks have a good relationship with SKA?

Interesting. Sekeres is claiming players wanted Gaudette gone as they are pissed about the outbreak. Makes sense

Yes. But that doesn't restrict his travel when there is nothing to report to with his KHL season over. Isn't training camps for Worlds in MAY? So he either stays and signs in Van May 1 or goes back to no quarantine Russia for Worlds if picked.

This up to Podz to enact if he wants chance of playing in NHL before Canucks end their season. It's still a longshot.

KHL contracts run to 30th April
Based on how they treated PodK...guessing SKA and VCR aren’t best friends.

SKA are hard as$ess with everyone. But Podz can make a trip on his own to check things out in Van, his future landing spot, while waiting. Start visa process once signed.

Report on Highmore I got from one league source: Less hockey sense, skill and upside/ceiling than Gaudette but he may become the “better” NHLer of the two because he has a clearer identity as a hard working fourth liner

Should clarify, it’s not that Gaudette’s work rate is an issue because it’s always been very high. It’s just that Highmore is the more traditional fit as a fourth line grinder

Matthew Sekeres
@mattsekeres
When Benning likes a player, he doesn’t tend to move off that position.

And when he dislikes a player, he doesn’t tend to move off his position.

This has long been the word from his competitors and collaborators alike.

It just reared its head again.

--------
This seems very true.

I believe all KHL contracts, for Russians, contain a clause that makes them have to be available for world championships, if called upon.

I was wondering if that played a role in the trade.

Yeah, but I'm hoping to spent 4-5 months a year here, my buddy has a basement suite that sits empty that I can use for the summers here.
- A_SteamingLombardi

A better plan than Benning's.

Sounds ideal.
