Had to trade Benn to force Green to play OJ?
- NewYorkNuck

"Pena is out, Hatteberg is in"

"Nope, Penas playing tonight"

"He can't, I traded him to Detroit."....Moneyball

Solid day by Benning. Got rid of Gaudette, acquired a draft pick in a draft that will be wild. I'll take it.

When will people learn that no one wants our trash? Stop freaking out ffs

I had zero expectations and today those expectations were met.

Jim Benning on Gaudette: To be quite honest, we expected him to take another step this year. He's played alright for us, but after the season he had last year, we were expecting him to come in and take another step. We didn't think he did that. #Canucks

Pretty harsh here Jim, maybe you should have done this with Sutter years ago. Before you signed him to a contract without ever playing a game for the Canucks.

Jim Benning - cold hearted bi*ch

Lol, excited for that extra pick.

I feel like Benning is those kids in the viral videos that, when their parents give them a banana as a Christmas gift gag, they actually get super excited.

- NewYorkNuck

Excited because someone let him have one.

Benning on Gaudette: He felt he wanted to play higher in the lineup than he was. When we talked to him, it was about improving his two-way game. Felt it was the right time for him to get a fresh start. It was just the right time for both parties to move on. #Canucks

Green doesn't allow that poop.

- manvanfan

Didn't like seeing Hoglander gifted a spot in the top 6? It does still weird me out that they never gave Gaudette a full look on the wing.

Hoglander battles in his own end. Gaudette battles no where.

He does at weddings. Glad we got rid of that underachieving wifebeater.

I would argue that he earned it.
He wasn't exactly up against stiff opposition, however.

It's Travis Green, no one gets a look without earning it. Even if you have earned it, you still haven't earned it unless you've earned it and who knows what it takes to earn things with Green.

Started off with Hughes yeah but for the past 31 games he has been playing with Myers. Benn is pretty even playing both sides this season. Naturally lefty.

today was never going to materially help this team. that's just the truth of the situation.

the more likely possibility was that JB was going to hurt the team's future further. thankfully he didn't do that.

let's just limp to the end of this season and wait for the house cleaning to begin. if jb survives, it'll be just as fun seeing the apologists turn coat in the next season or two. either way, it's a win/win.

Those Washington picks will both be late/low and will quite possibly amount to fawk all. Panik blows and Vrana is an RFA and lets wait and see how he does playing with Glendening and Helm instead of Backstrom and Oshie.....
- Brooks_Light

On the first line instead of the 2nd? And pp1? I think he's shown quite a bit of skill and production with limited minutes behind other players. And two big picks. If im detroit fan i came in my pants. Mantha does fit that team very well though.

Aquilini is f*cked as soon as fans are allowed back in the arena. I hope we can hear the "Fire! Benning!" chants on the island.

You're the one that said he wasnt playing the right side.

he currently has more minutes playing the right side than the left with Myers
True story

that excuse for juolevi not playing is weak as hell
