No we got a 6th, a 5th and gave up a 4th. We gained one pick. At the end of the day the TDL is a huge win because Gaudette is gone

Would have been better if Sutter had (frank)ed off as well.

he got a single pick, and traded down for a reclamation.

Everyone is hyper-focused on what he did or didnt do today, but fail to recognize the bigger picture, which is, EVEN if he wanted to do more today (which I imagine he did), he handcuffed himself with such poor roster construction/management, that he really couldn't.

And then when he can't, and people complain about it, apologist come in with:

"temper your expections"
"he didn't have anything to dangle"
"pandemic"
"the players got covid, no one wants them"

the fan base is taking a page out of the Canucks roster of the last 10 years, just so soft lol

No that’s not true. I’m pretty sure fans see the bigger picture. Lots of bad contracts and untradable assets. It’s just hilarious to hear the complaining when there was no other outcome today

Bieksa and Versteeg speak very highly of Highmore and have said absolutely nothing about Gaudette. Win for Canucks IMO.

its TDL day, what do you expect. We analyze each trade given the circumstances and voice our independent thoughts on it. Should we just post the trades and not discuss? lol

Gotta have confidence lads

Year 7 and we just have to hope Benning figures out the trade deadline in year 8

I’m just glad we took on more contracts for next year. Genius move by Benning giving up assets for a cap dump.

Expiring contracts and cap flexibility??? never heard of her.

Who'd we trade and what did we get?

I was fine with today's deals and thought it was Bennings best TDL yet. As you said in a previous post, Benning has no plan, I think most of us can agree on that.

I have a feeling everyone I listed in my 2021 draft forum will be gone by the 4th round at the latest.

Van did pick two players I wanted in later rounds last year Jackson Kunz and Jacob Truscott.

there is something ironic about Benning having the best TDL's when he isn't able to trade most of his assets because of the clauses he gave out, or has a good free agent frenzy because he's handcuffed by his own cap management

Surprised Canucks made trades. That said even though low level players moved expected more of a return on them.

Too bad Sutter can't fit a contenders cap. Maybe JB was talking about Sutter when he stated about not moving guys under circumstances. That Sutter family has a lot of juice in hockey world.

lol is what it is.

Scraps in and scraps out big whoop.

Benning obviously feel;s like Highmore is another Motte so hopefully it's works out for Big Jimmy.

Friedman brought up a good point, he says Detroit probably assessed the fact that their rebuild will be lengthy and Martha will be passed his prime by the time they are legit again.

I think the complaining stems from the fact JB backed the team into a corner where there were no other options No one wants the players he signed
