Elliot Friedman reporting Penguins and Nicolas Deslauriers. not sure if rumor or done deal.

Based on his profile, cant imagine it'd be for much. Listed at 6'3 and 219... so def a Hextall and Burke type.

As long as it isnt for anything important, I'm fine with smaller moves for some depth.

Normal rumor guys in Canada saying the asking price for Nick Foligno is a 1st... so that should tell you the sellers market that it is now.

So i guess we did go out of our way to get a plug. I hope we didn’t give anything more than Jankowski.

Let me pull that back...discussions between ANA/PIT on Deslauriers. Nothing done.

What I wonder with a guy like Deslaurier, is if he's someone who will play every night or based on the opponent.

To me it signals that we’re trying to retool the 4th line instead of bringing in top 9 guys, in which case we really should just not do anything.

I would imagine he'd only play against the Caps haha. Hopefully it's Jank going the other way

Is Staal third pair material or just depth?

I guess I'm still not even clear what the construction of the bottom six will look like. Are we looking at a Zucker-Blueger-Deslaurier line with McCann next to Geno?

I have been reading all the negatives about EROD and I see nothing but hustle and enthusiasm with this guy. He is not the most talented but gives it all when he is on the ice. He has speed and his attitude is top notch. All of you keyboard GM's are really wrong about this guy. Lay off

ZAR-Blueger-Tanev is going to be a thing no matter what. So that means either McCann or Zucker are going to be playing with two fourth line or 13th forward caliber players and that line will be stupid.

Zucker/McCann - Gadreau - ? Could be 2/3’s of a decent line if gadreau can maintain his quality of play. Now the rw is where problems start and deslauriers will not help. But If you’re gonna suck at least he’s tough. Better than neither I suppose.

Can the Zohan play RW could be good with that as a 4RW

I guess it also goes back to the idea of whether or not ZAR/Blue/Tanev is a third line that makes the Pens competitive enough in the playoffs.

I didn't even see that Deslaurier still has sone more year remaining. It's still not official and I hope this isn't the move. Just seems useless.

I believe he can, though I think Angello, and sadly Lafferty and even Sceviour are ahead of him.

Seems completely antithetical to what Hextall and Burke have been preaching. I'd like to think they won't do something stupid.
