That's fine, but still not worth a first
- Archaic

Ah yes, the late 1st round pick that is basically a 2nd. Now that's something that is overrated by fans.

Who cares, whatever it takes this year.

We go off the board at 25-30 anyways, give them our 2nd too.

I'd trade a late 2nd for Foligno.

Too funny, there’s some good ole coke snorting gifs.

Maybe I’ll use it for Leaf wins now, but I can’t change until we lose a game.

As we stand today the Leafs pick will be 27th-32nd. Not great value for a 1st round pick.

Our 1st has basically the same value as buffalos 2nd.

2008 pens added hossa and lost in finals, year after they added Guerin and won the cup
- MaximusAurelius

Great example to prove my point really. Guerin was a depth player when traded to pens, he wasnt a star anymore.

Hossa was a star. But i was discussing cup winners, not almost cup winners.

So we are talking hall of famers on the market. Hall is a future hall of famer?

Such a great movie!

The "What have the Romans done for us?" bit is perhaps the greatest piece of satire ever.

"All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?"

Agreed.

Just need more depth. Need to make sure Marincin never sees the ice again.

Another cheap pickup like Galchenyuk would be great.

Whoever gets Hall is probably going to significantly overpay.

- Leafs43

Overpay how? Prices seem low and we have a shot now. If you don’t like Hall, fine make that argument but I think it’s crazy to worry too much about the price and wait for our next chance

He had 26 points in 20 games...Thats a clear example of what a good rental can do. Carry you deep into the playoffs and give you the best chance to win.

I dont really care if they get Hall or not. Ill even be excited if they do.

But i dont like the idea of paying a first rounder+ for a rental. Never have. Rarely seems to work out.

You’re looking for a trade that guarantees a cup win?

You’ve got a shot so do your best to improve your odds of winning the cup. I don’t think any GMs are handing out guarantees. Whoever Dubas thinks that is, negotiate the best price, if it’s ridiculous, walk away and get the next guy on the list but I don’t want to read (or skip) MIB summer blog “Smart Dubas Played It Safe at Deadline”

Mike Weir’s win is in my top 10 most exciting sports events I’ve ever watched.

I had to leave the house for a while - took the dod for a walk and had my wife phone me after every hole.

Got back when he was around the 14th hole.

I would love to see Conners get on a role.

- Atomic Wedgie

Well ya jinxed him.
