Mike Weir’s win is in my top 10 most exciting sports events I’ve ever watched.
I had to leave the house for a while - took the dod for a walk and had my wife phone me after every hole.
Got back when he was around the 14th hole.
I would love to see Conners get on a role. |

Dubas already added a guy who played on the top line last night. |

I agree with that. If Rollie the Goalie doesn't get injured the Oilers win the Cup that year. Didn't Lowe pick up Mike Peca? - gergeswillems
Yup and Peca had a huge resurgence in those playoffs. |

I believe Dubas also acquired a guy who just set an NHL record for consecutive wins to start the season. |

I still can't think of a team that went on to win a cup after trading for a star at Trade deadline.
It's almost always depth trades. - Leafs43
Ray Bourque? Granted, near the end of his career but he was still putting up 50+ pts a season at that point.
(he was a runner up for the Norris the next, and final, season) |

Yeah I stayed at the airport and watched from the bar after my arrival because I would not get home on time.

Headmaster: (supposedly reading from The Bible) And spotteth twice they the camels before the third hour. And so the Midianites went forth to Ram Gilead in Kadesh Bilgemath by Shor Ethra Regalion, to the house of Gash-Bil-Betheul-Bazda, he who brought the butter dish to Balshazar and the tent peg to the house of Rashomon, and there slew they the goats, yea, and placed they the bits in little pots. Here endeth the lesson. |

Such a great movie!
The "What have the Romans done for us?" bit is perhaps the greatest piece of satire ever.
"All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?" |

Remember when the Caps traded for 3C Lars Eller in 2018? No one really thought much of it. But then Backstrom and Kuznetsov missed games to injury and Eller stepped right in and helped fill the void. Caps won the Cup.
I saw Brad Stuart solidify the Red Wings D in 2008 which led to a Cup. I think any Cup winning team already has its team built. They just need to add another depth piece or 2. - gergeswillems
I remember Stuart scoring 2 goals in the last 10 minutes of the season to boost me in Defensive goals and win me $800-$1000
There were some pretty mad poolie friends that year 🤣
I think he was in SJ then. |

Can you think of a team that won a cup with the draft pick/prospects they got for a star at the TDL?
The whole point is to better your chances..there are no guarantees but adding a star certainly increases your chances.
Just how the team selling has no guarantee the picks will even turn into an NHLer let alone a cup. |

Seems to be heating up on the Nick Foligno front for #CBJ. Belief is multiple teams have put a 1st-round pick on the table for Jarmo Kekalainen to consider.
Foligno is not worth a first my god |
