Go for it.
He still has alot of speed going for him but his inability to defend and the lack of offensive production ended up killing him in Montreal despite getting plenty of chances.
Too bad, he never really improved enough from his rookie year. - Scabeh
Kind of feel they rushed the kid a bit, no? |

Gally looked good with Matthews and marner. You could easily put him there and have him and Hyman flip flop depending on the game. - bryant
Exactly.. as long as Gal. Doesn't get complacent...

For sure.
But at the time, Bergevin made the horrible mistake of letting Markov walk for a 500k difference, traded Beaulieu and lost Emelin to Vegas.
He also traded our best defensive prospect on defense (who's a LHD) in Sergachev.
The whole left side of the defense was to be rebuilt, we had Alzner and Kulak there with no one else.
Mete was fast and looked promising, he got put there by lack of other options.
Yup, the summer of 2017 was a terrible one for the Habs.

Yup. Pack it in, the Tampas are now invincible.
Sigh. It was fun while it lasted.

I think Weber made Mete look better than he really is in his rookie season. |

Tampa is willing to go all-in and has the assets to overpay. Not sure if Dubas wants to blow his load this year. - mjones242
I guess you're right, why not wait another 53 (frank)en years, we really need another (frank)en Fredrick Gauther in the system way more than a top four tough RHD

Is Steve Y helping Tampa!? Seems like he wants to help Tampa and Habs, against the Leafs! Tampa must be afraid of the Leafs. Come on Dubus get us someone! - Bullot
He's just making trades, man.

Suggestion for the league: why not make the Canucks’ last two games against the Sens, so you can play end the string at the same time as the playoffs?
That way, you don’t have to hold up the start of the playoffs. - Atomic Wedgie
This makes too much sense. So NHL will certainly avoid it |

Let's wait until 2:59.99 on Monday to submit a deal (hopefully electronic communication works) and land all the remaining Alpo because the price is right. Meanwhile Tampa, NYI and Colorado will be dining at Michelin 5 star restaurants |

This is why we're not GMs. In Dubas we trust. |

Not sure why you seem to be so surprised of Kyle 'no risk' Dubas not doing anything significant. |

Some deals aren't even announced until 3:30 or 4. Tradecentre will be a bunch of nothing for 6 hours and then everything will happen after 2. 🤣 |

I can't remember. It's usually the small trades which make the biggest impact. The blowhards on tradecentre award the Cup to 10 different teams and none of them usually end up winning it. |

I still can't think of a team that went on to win a cup after trading for a star at Trade deadline.
It's almost always depth trades.

Ironically Id vote Kevin Lowe for best deadline in history. His 2006 trade deadlien moves were brilliant and if not for Rolosson injury, probably results in a cup. |

Remember when the Caps traded for 3C Lars Eller in 2018? No one really thought much of it. But then Backstrom and Kuznetsov missed games to injury and Eller stepped right in and helped fill the void. Caps won the Cup.
I saw Brad Stuart solidify the Red Wings D in 2008 which led to a Cup. I think any Cup winning team already has its team built. They just need to add another depth piece or 2. |

I agree with that. If Rollie the Goalie doesn't get injured the Oilers win the Cup that year. Didn't Lowe pick up Mike Peca? |

1. Someone was likely to help Tampa out here. Might as well be Steve and he gets a benefit.
2. Red wings aren't competitors of tampa right now so why should they care if Tampa wins or "gets away" with something?
3. Dubas has made some minor moves so far and is handcuffed by the salary cap. Many other top teams haven't done poop either.

Agreed.
Just need more depth. Need to make sure Marincin never sees the ice again.
Another cheap pickup like Galchenyuk would be great.
Whoever gets Hall is probably going to significantly overpay.
