All season? Engvall wasn't even on the team to start the season. π€¦π»ββοΈ
Pretty sure Kerfoot is their intended 3C.
Yes, I am sure the gritty tough vet who has played in the cup finals and is hugely respected in the room is going to play before the guy who is essentially a rookie who's brain can't keep up with his feet. I'd bet on it, it's why they brought Thornton in. Remember how the benching spezza thing went over? - joel878
It's kind of fascinating that Kerf is still on the team. I thought for sure he would be dollars out for dollars in.
Chucky-AM34-Mitch
Foligno-Snake-Willie
Hyman-Kerf-Simmonds
Thornton-Spezza-Engvall/Soup?
Not bad.
Still hope Dubas has something else in order. Backup goalie or depth D-man? |

I went to an Oshawa Generals game in the early 80's when Andreychuk played on a line with John MacLean and Tony Tanti. They were awesome. It used to be fights galore in that league, especially when the Generals played the Petes. There was a line brawl, and Andreychuk had his helmet on his fist and was pummelling one of the Petes.

Andreychuk was money in front of the goalie. I hated it when the Leafs got him. You literally couldn't move him. I used to call him Slothreychuk. I'd be yelling "Move you (frank)ing sloth! For (frank) sakes! " |

Joe came to Toronto to try to win a cup, do you seriously think anyone in that room is going to settle for him being pressboxed the second games start to matter? - joel878
If Kerfoot was their intended 3C, he'd be playing 3C. Engvall's been there for a long time now.
It's not settling - Joe's play simply isnt good enough, and he's too slow. |

100 years ago, I used to go stand in line at Maple Leaf Gardens at around 3:30 pm.
Sometime between 4-4:30 pm, they would release the unused visiting teamβs tickets (greys, section 93).
One time I was standing there, and Andrechuk walked in. He was one of the thickest humans I have ever seen.
Really weird, but I remember staring at his thumb, which was at least five times wider than mine.
It would take a bulldozer to move him from the crease. - Atomic Wedgie
When I used to roadie for Nasty Habitz, we would set them up at Larry's Hideaway on saturday nights and after we were done we would go get scalper tickets half way through the first for 5 bucks. |

Will be at least one of these things. They could use both.
They have put together a very deep lineup now.

I'm hoping for the goaltender over anything else. Can't expect campbell/Hutch for playoffs.
After tomorrow I suspect Freddie could be "done for 5 weeks" |

Engvall is our 3C. Who else is going to play there? You're telling me Keefe is going to sit out the guy who has played full minutes 3C all season so that he can play...Joe Thornton?

Yzerman doesn't leak anything. I expect Glenny and Bernier to be traded. Maybe Staal and Gagner. I doubt any team wants Helm. |

Imo π¦>Kerf
He could probably do what Kerfoot does even if he stuck him in his backpack and skates around with him. |

There's a rumor that Engvall has scored an NHL goal at some point in his career. Skakes fast? - sure, is tall? - sure, hits? not - much, scores? - no, exists? - sure.
Kerfoot is a better hockey player than Engvall, he can play center, Engvall will not play in the playoffs unless there are injuries IMO
This doesn't mean Joe will play, but even though he is slow, he can still pass and shoot way better than the Giraffe and with this team, all he has to do is either stand in front of the net or dig it out of the corners to set up a team mate.

When they are both on the 3rd line, Engvall plays C. Kerfoot gets physically dominated in our end when he plays C. He's been much more effective since they moved him to the wing. Engvall is a bigger body, and better down low in our end. |

I'd guess the top 6 is probably right. I think the Mikky-Eng-Hyman line was too (frank)ing good not to try again. They skated the (frank) out of McDavid a couple of nights.
4th line Simmonds-Kerfoot-Spezza ...with Big Joe and Nash in the mix. |

Andreychuk and Zezel used to drive me nuts. Zezel was the best soccer player in the NHL. He'd literally never lose a faceoff. I used to see players hit him and they'd literally bounce off him. Strong as a (frank)ing ox.
