I heard he has a real NOESE for the puck. I'll be here all night. Tip your waitress. Try the veal.
- gergeswillems

I hope Leafs fans aren’t expecting the guy to provide any esen.

They will be sadly disappointed.

Why did I think he played center? Did he ever?
- gravyface

He has, but not on a regular basis.

Slowest player I ever saw play was Dave Andreychuk - I think he's 15th all time in goal scorers. Thornton is a speedster compared to Andreychuk. I think they take out stone hands Giraffe before Jumbo. It may be moot though because, Riley Nash might be a good 4th liner in the playoffs if ready and I think Robertson might be on the team for the playoffs as well.

Mikheyev could also eat some popcorn.

I love his speed, but he doesn’t do enough with it.

I never said he'd be 3C, I said he'd play before Engvall. They're clearly favouring experience at this point.
- joel878

Engvall is our 3C. Who else is going to play there? You're telling me Keefe is going to sit out the guy who has played full minutes 3C all season so that he can play...Joe Thornton?

Leafs have 2.7M of LTIR relief left. If they want to activate Andersen they will need to shed 2.3M off the roster.

Barabanov + Marincin + Hutchinson = 2.35M

who is going back up Campbell tomorrow?

Great trade👍 Not sure why people are complaining about the first. That's what you do when your a contender 🤷 If we didn't pay it someone else would have. The 4th's are just shots in the dark on draft Day so does it really even matter to lose em for a year?
- kkvslayer

Nothing off the active roster. Just a 1st round pick. 4ths dont matter.

Honestly, the funniest news to me is that I feel Foligno is better than Palmieri and Lou paid the same price.

Noesen's been an AHL guy for the Sharks ...I'm assuming he'll be on waivers or with the Marlies?
- The Law

yeah he definitely doesn't crack the NHL lineup

Apparently the first doesn't matter either, seeing as it's basically a second.

And an early second is basically a first so Dubas needs to trade Kerfoot for one.

How about we just push him in Lake Ontario. No ice there now is there?
- Leafsmart

Someway. Somehow. Marincin will dress for 1 Leafs playoff game. He's Rasputin. You just can't get rid of him.

All season? Engvall wasn't even on the team to start the season. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Pretty sure Kerfoot is their intended 3C.

Yes, I am sure the gritty tough vet who has played in the cup finals and is hugely respected in the room is going to play before the guy who is essentially a rookie who's brain can't keep up with his feet. I'd bet on it, it's why they brought Thornton in. Remember how the benching spezza thing went over?

Joe came to Toronto to try to win a cup, do you seriously think anyone in that room is going to settle for him being pressboxed the second games start to matter?

He's a left winger.
- bobbyisno1

He's primarily a winger but has played quite a bit of C. His last game with CBJ he was centering the 3rd line.

100 years ago, I used to go stand in line at Maple Leaf Gardens at around 3:30 pm.

Sometime between 4-4:30 pm, they would release the unused visiting team’s tickets (greys, section 93).

One time I was standing there, and Andrechuk walked in. He was one of the thickest humans I have ever seen.

Really weird, but I remember staring at his thumb, which was at least five times wider than mine.

It would take a bulldozer to move him from the crease.

TSN and Sportsnet should start their trade deadline shows at noon.

I've thought that for a few years. Maybe 11.

They are praying Buffalo doesn't trade Hall yet.

So here’s best explanation of where they were left cap wise after Nash - with $5.8M, $5M of which would be lost if Freddie came of injured reserve before playoffs

https://mapleleafshotstov...ional-seventh-round-pick/

The actual cap cost of acquiring Foligno is $1.375M

https://mapleleafshotstov...ional-seventh-round-pick/

- Canada Cup

That link was updated by Capfriendly earlier today. Nash was not on LTI at that point ..may not be yet. Not sure exactly why but basically C.F. said his 2.75 (and now presumably Foligno's 1.375) work as part of the Freddy 5M LTI overage. That would leave them with about 900k if true.

Although they've changed their mind on how this works a couple of times.

I went to an Oshawa Generals game in the early 80's when Andreychuk played on a line with John MacLean and Tony Tanti. They were awesome. It used to be fights galore in that league, especially when the Generals played the Petes. There was a line brawl, and Andreychuk had his helmet on his fist and was pummelling one of the Petes.
