How do taxi squads work in the playoffs?

I think we got our $700K worth out of Joe. He worked really well with the first line at the start but couldn’t pick it back up after coming back. Depending on matchups, it’s possible we could see him in the playoffs but not likely. He is the kind of guy that could surprise though

Leafs have 2.7M of LTIR relief left. If they want to activate Andersen they will need to shed 2.3M off the roster.

Barabanov + Marincin + Hutchinson = 2.35M

San Jose Trades Foligno (50% retained) to Toronto for a 4th

Toronto trades a 1st and a 4th to SanJose for Noesen

Sad to say it but Joe is too slow for playoff hockey. He's out come playoff time, imo.

Slowest player I ever saw play was Dave Andreychuk - I think he's 15th all time in goal scorers. Thornton is a speedster compared to Andreychuk. I think they take out stone hands Giraffe before Jumbo. It may be moot though because, Riley Nash might be a good 4th liner in the playoffs if ready and I think Robertson might be on the team for the playoffs as well.

No way Thornton is 3C in the playoffs. Not a chance in hell.

Nash will play either 3rd or 4th line minutes when he returns from injury.

Noesen is just a depth guy. Probably won’t play unless there are injuries.

Great trade👍 Not sure why people are complaining about the first. That's what you do when your a contender 🤷 If we didn't pay it someone else would have. The 4th's are just shots in the dark on draft Day so does it really even matter to lose em for a year?

Noesen is a minor leaguer and Nash will play if healthy.

Earlier today Capfriendly put out an update/clarification on the Leafs cap situation. Although they may have updated since then.

Basically the chain of events is this:
With nobody on LTI they called up some schmucks to ram up against the Cap. They then put Freddy on LTI to turn his 5M into LTI space. They then deal for Nash and he's sitting on IR (not LTI). His 2.75 is part of the Freddy 5M LTI space leaving them with 2.25 in LTI space. Foligno will eat up about 1.45 of that leaving them with 800k.

If Freddy's coming back before the playoffs then I'm not sure what the (frank) happens. Nash can go to LTI replacing some of that but after that I'm not sure.

Noesen's been an AHL guy for the Sharks ...I'm assuming he'll be on waivers or with the Marlies?
