It’s kinda unfair to put this on him although I don’t like the job they’ve done....I only have one question....
‘Would any coach be able to get this current group to another level the way they are currently constructed”? - landros 2
No, this roster needs to be changed, however a coach has to give his team the best chance to win, and AV is not doing it!

Yup, goes without saying the roster needs to turned over. |

Realistically dont expect too much from the TDL
Its a buyers market and the Flyers dont have much available. At this point buying SHOULD be out of the question but selling also isnt really going to bring us much. Our UFAs are pretty limited
Laughton
Gus
Raffl
Elliott
Morin
I dont see us getting anything but late round picks for Gus, Raffl or Morin. Morin has more value on the team then he does being dealt right now due to lack of play time from injuries.
Laughton and Elliott might get us a 2nd or 3rd but there are so many options out there for those roles so we might get even less.
We likely wont see any major changes until the offseason

You see Laughton on that 2nd Buffalo goal? The Flyers better NOT resign him, I want him traded tomorrow!! - jd250
That goal is 100 % on him....lackadaisical in his own end....it was not a bad play by Sanheim....in the third Laughton left his guy wide open at the point...much like Vorecek did last week...these clowns aren’t rookies, they only make mistakes rookies make. |

So what happens if Boston lose the next 3 and the flyers win the next 2? Do they still have no chance? Asking for a friend. |

Opening cap space at the deadline tomorrow shouldn’t be overlooked either if it’s at all possible. It’s clear they’re going to need to spend this summer. |

Tell your friend, who probably hasn’t watched them this year, today they showed who they are....not a lot different then the team that sucked all of March... |

They cant though. Whos going to take on Salary? With the Flat Cap you wont be able to move a large contract without taking one back. This would be something to look at IF we were starting a rebuild but thats not where we are at. We are looking to shake things up which is more of an offseason type move.
There are other teams looking to shake their rosters up like CGY, VAN, BUF and Maybe SJ

We can turn things around by resigning Laughton for 6 years - Just5
And clode
And selke
And for good measure as he has always been a good soldier raffle
Coaches and several players need to go. This isn’t an great revelation. Can’t see coach going as he has a hefty contract and times are tough. There will be a whole list of reasons why change won’t come. At least if will be entertaining
Clode show some balls and request a trade today. |

Sure but whats the likelyhood? If BOS loses 3 straight PHI will needs 4 points to tie and BOS would still have games in hand. Boston needs to go on a very big losing streak for PHI to have a chance to pass them.

It’s been over for a couple weeks. They’ve had multiple chances to make a last ditch effort at a playoff run and every time, they come up empty. The trajectory of this season has been epically bad and mind boggling. I thought they might take a step backwards this year losing Niskanen if some of the younger players didn’t improve and the vets weren’t playing at a high level consistently but I didn’t see it going this poorly. |

I agree. Only thing I want to see tomorrow is what they DON'T do. And that would be adding to make some unrealistic push.
Offseason Fletcher had major work to do. |

It's not unfair. While it's certainly not ideal, if you followed AV's time in NY and Van, this last month+ are very similar to what lead to his firing in both places. That's not excusing the players from this mess, changes need to be made in that regard too.....but this is more than just making a few mistakes or unlucky bounces or covid. The personnel choices, failure to adjust poor defensive zone play, special teams etc, are all issues he's been heavily criticized for in the past. Even now, everyone says fire the assistants, yet AV chose them specifically and gave them their roles. Given AV'S history, the red flags are flying everywhere.
As far as your question goes, if a replacement is needed, I would approach Gerard Gallant for the job. |

No they are not but with this loss and a potential BOS win. We might have the same odds as wining a Lottery jackpot than the Flyers have making the playoffs.
Flyers have 15 games left
Boston has 18 games left
Boston also plays BUF 6 more times. As fans we have realistically gauge our probabilities. Playoffs are a miracle at this point. |

Meh, show me a coach that will get everything out of this roster and then I’ll be worried about AV. There’s only so much you can do with the players you have and these guys have burned through more coaches than anyone in the league |
