Brian burke has had some good ideas or at least been an advocate of some real good changes. Retaining salary is one. I believe he was for no touch icing too.

He also has advocated being able to trade retained salary or something to that effect. It would be great if the Leafs could have unloaded the Kessel salary retention at some point. |

I wish we could. Maybe thats too circumventing for teams who give out bad contracts. You can take Karlsson right now at like 11 million. And trade 50% to someone and then Karlsson and 50% to someone else without a penalty. |
