To replace who, Holl who made a couple of sloppy moves last night? No thanks. Leafs still have by far the best Goals Against in the Division and Muzzin/Holl are among the best shut down pair in the league. Get some insurance after doing other business if there’s money left but the Leafs’ defence sucks is old news.

You don’t think overwhelming a team with 4 lines that can score, will work? One forward changes that lineup considerably. I still think Dubas believes that puck possession will be the Leafs best defence. Not saying I don’t want better players inserted into the lineup, but who, and from where? It can’t be that easy, regardless of what some think.

You need to have the cap space or be able to make cap space.
You need a trade partner who wants to trade the guy you want.
Your trade partner has to value/want what you're offering.
Your trade partner also needs to make cap space work.

It is not easy.

I think we’re positioned to do something big. We’ve got a (frank) load of cap space now and ways to get more. Take Hall as an example, Buffalo just looking for the best possible return with maybe two or three teams interested. If Dubas wants him more, he can just add a bit more. It’s just a question of how much others want him and who’s willing to pay.
