Taylor Hall: The no-move really helped me become a Bruin.

There you have it

Move on about the return for him

- Stripes77

He forced the Sabres hand, Which is exactly what Jack can do when his NTC clause kicks in.

Maruk or Oli were not considered a top 10 player in the game for a lengthy stretch though

so really I am not proven wrong

- homiedclown

Stop.

Maruk had one 50 goal and one 60 goal season, plus 90, 97 and 127 point seasons BEFORE he made the playoffs. ON TERRIBLE TEAMS.

You're wrong.

"Ok Taylor, so Boston apparently doesn't want you bad enough considering they aren't offering us what you feel you're worth, so you're going to need to pick another team that's interested otherwise you might be staying. It's only 10pm the day before so I have plenty of time to have some discussions"

It would help to post the question too "Did the NMC help you become a Bruin?"

He was led into that answer

so he gets a pass, on something that literally has NEVER happened in the nhl?
- homiedclown

I'll answer your question in what I presume is reality. This year (year 6) he's been hurt, like all year. Plainly obvious. Something isn't right. Years 1-3 kind of a pass as he was growing into the player he is to become. Should it have happened faster? idk, he's pretty good now. Last year (year 5) what more could he have done honestly? He was as dominant as any player in the league on an individual level at both ends of the ice. Year 4 I guess is the only year I don't give him a pass?

What more do you want him to do?

Serious question

It's his fault his goalies couldn't stop a beach ball?

It's his fault no forward on another line was more than a 35 point player in the last 3 seasons?

On background, Taylor Hall apparently did have options. Throughout the process, Kevyn Adams did present other opportunities to Hall...Taylor chose to go to Boston.

Ok, then no trade.

Adams caved the day before the deadline

Boston wanted him so bad since the offseason that the Sabres needed to basically do whatever they asked to make it work?

Come on now

Hall was pushing Adams to do a trade with Boston. So.. there's all your leverage.
- TheSabresTaco

Which is not surprising and Hall at this point in his career has every right. But this should have been known months ago and should not be used as an excuse today. Again Adams should have known this challenge the moment Hall was signed, and went to Boston or another team Hall might have had interest in and said Boston/Team X I'm giving you first rights to a Hall trade. If the talk today is going to be spun as, "Sabres had little leverage with Hall trade because of NMC" then that's on Adams for lack of foresight. And maybe Adams called Boston a while ago and Boston said let's wait this out, so good on Boston but this just continues to be an organization that is run like an ECHL team.

agreed

but now we are calling Maruk who was 56 points behind the flower and 20th in scoring a top 10 player in the nhl when we had guys like robinson, potvin etc on the blue line and dryden in net

side note don edwards made the second all star team that year, and maruk didn't sniff the all star team list

Craig Rivet is the F)(* worst.

Hed rather play Tokarski over UPL because UPL needs the minors treatment.
