I was for claiming him. But I get why nobody did.

I still want to blow it up.

If you get good offers:

Risto
Sam
Oloffson

They can go.

I don't get the trade olofsson movement

if this team is good, he is exactly what you need in the middle 6 and a pp shot needed on the top unit

- homiedclown

3.2 million for a 20 goal scorer. Seems reasonable.

He definitely disappears, needs to work on consistency.

Need guys to play important roles

He's also been 100% neutralized without eichel on the opposite wall on the powerplay. So do you need a roster spot for a soft small player who is bad 5 on 5 for a guy who will ultimately end up just being a space eater on the powerplay?

He’s a perimeter softy who’s already like 35 years old. He is what he is

Olofsson is Ales Kotalik 2.0

If you get a good offer for him you take it and run.

He had one good nhl season. But you can say this year is a wash because of the mess that was Ralph but he’s still nothing more than a 3rd line winger PP specialist.

- Stripes77

2nd year guy with room to grow. Imo. Reasonable contract.

I'd trade anyone if you get a good offer.

We suck bad. Shake these guys up.

lol while not exactly 35 yeah, Olofsson was a 25 year old rookie for crying out loud. It took him 7 years to develop into what he is right now. And he is what he is. I think this is his ceiling. A PP-specialist who gets bullied in the corners, against the walls and in open ice. He doesn't know how to make space for himself.

He's a decent 3rd liner, PP-specialist that a team like Tampa Bay could use due to his friendly contract.

We need a lot more than he has to offer right now.

he's 25, been a pro for 7 years, is getting consistent premium ice time with the best players he can possibly play with while he will be here

if this isn't his ceiling he will be a josh allen level anomaly

I'd still keep him unless there was an oddly terrific offer. We don't need more 3rd round picks

Boss I don’t understand how you love this guy yet get on Sam all the time

He’s softer than cotton candy in the corners. For someone like you who appreciates those hard working body banging types I don’t get your love for him.

Also older than Sam...

Correct. I wouldn’t trade him just to trade him. If a great offer comes then yes trade him.

I think he’s fetch a lot. That’s why I’d trade him.

I don’t really mind him if he’s not playing 19 min a night and bringing Eichel down

He's already 25 though. It took him longer than the average NHL career to develop into a tag-along player.

He is incapable of driving the play. He's too small to be playing on the top line and even playing there with a top-10 center, he only had 9 even strength goals last year, he has 5 this year.

He is a 10 goal guy who has a deadly shot from the slot on the power-play, which makes him a 20-goal guy... A .ppg of .50 is good value for his contract.

But if he needs a top-10 center in order to be effective, he is the classic sell-high player. He honestly doesn't make this team better. He doesn't make Eichel better, he doesn't make players around him better. He needs to be wide-open in order to take his shot because he has a 16-foot wind-up.

Sell-high. Let R2 play
