So, any guesses on what Bergevin is planning for the deadline? This team at the moment is alright, but no better than that. They're unlikely to go much deeper than maybe a round and Bergevin is gone if that happens.

Team right now at best 2 rounds depending on opponent, maybe more depending on how healthy they are, won’t even guess what he will do. Can he pull off a Vanek from 2014 or Petry from 2015

While I love to poop on him for his bargain bin antics as much as the next guy, he would be foolish not to use the space to add something notable by using the million picks he has. His job is on the line.

If he could pull off either that'd be quite amazing. Even if it isn't quite as good of a deal as we got for both ie I dont care if a first is traded if the player is worth it.

He will get a defenseman but it might be it

I don't think he has the cap space to add a defenseman and a forward, unless he goes cheap on both players

or maybe a top 4 defenseman and a depth forward

the help with fowards will be Armia and Gallagher coming back, and maybe poehling and Caufield at some point

Was fun having Vanek those few months, his stats were ok but he seems somewhat disinterested on the ice during the playoffs that year

From what I remember, he was productive against Boston, but floated through the Rangers series.

I wonder if Buffalo would entertain something like Drouin, a 1rst, and a 2nd for Hall 2M retained. I think this could make sense for both teams. Montreal would still have the space to look for a dmen also.

We're also dumping Drouin who has negative value.

you know how I would love to see Drouin traded, but I wouldn't trade him for Hall. even one for one, forget the picks. (frank) Hall.
I would make your trade though (Drouin a 1st and a 2nd) for Perron and Dunn

you could make the argument that Hall is off the cap at the end of the season, but yeah

how much would he makes that team better for the playoffs?

If you don't like Drouin, I don't think you will like Hall

A better LW winger still in his prime who put up good numbers with a bunch of poop teams and offloading a bad contract at the same time. I don't know why everyone thinks it's crazy, but whatever.
