Yes, it makes them a better team and I think it would certainly give them more wins. Just look at the games in April so far. I think they have been playing better, but they aren't getting the consistent scoring. With a guy like Pasta this team may have 5 more wins this year. Oh, and that's not to mention their shoot out issues. I mean, how many points do they throw away a season with all their shoot out losses. To your other point, no, it doesn't clear up all their other warts. They need a legit #1 pairing defender to play with Provorov and I think this team's most glaring need is more physical/speedier forwards to play the type of system that AV wants them to play(that's why I wasn't happy that they let Pitlick go).

I mean Buffalo added Hall (39 in 17-18) this past season to have a scorer with Eichel. 3 years ago they added Skinner (40 goals in 18-19) to add goal scoring depth. I mean do the Flyers have any former 40 goal scorers? It didn't seem to help Buffalo win more.

Only player that comes to mind and moves the needle for me is Patrick Kane. That guy literally controls the pace and play of every shift.

Some players, like Kane, can do that for a team, but the cost of that player is team altering.

My point being is I don't understand how some think a simple addition or even subtraction changes this team, it hasn't in the past. This teams needs a full evaluation from top to bottom, which I thought was the point of bringing Fletcher in. I am not necessarily talking about a full tear down, but someone needs to make some decisions quick.

What kind of system does the coach want to play and is that coach right for the job?

Does the team have the right players to play that way?

What does fit and what doesn't?

Are they drafting players for how they want the team's identity to be or are they just going full safe mode hoping they just get guys that can make the roster?

Do they have players that fill a variety of roles or are they just interchangeable?

Why can't simple questions the team has had for years and years like how come the team consistently has stretches where they look absolutely flat and why are the players unable to correct that?

Not sure Skinner and Hall are very good examples especially this year. They were signed to be scorers and I think they have a grand total of 4 goals between them this year. I assumed when you mentioned that the Flyers added a scorer that he would actually score. You mentioned Pasta and he is a pretty consistent scorer. Do you think Buffalo would of re-signed Skinner to that huge deal if they knew he wouldn't be scoring or would they sign Hall if they knew he would only have 2 goals? I would bet they were pretty positive a 40 goal scorer would do that again or close when they offered him that much money.

A few weeks ago he took on Tom Wilson with no hesitation. As for not being too eager to take on Morin, I suspect after seeing the clip of Sam knocking down Ross Johnston, not many players would be too eager to fight him.
