Even if there is a playoff team who could free up that much cap to add him....why the hell would they use that much cap to add him!?

You figure the Devils will retain 50% or they are taking a contract back. He's not as horrible as some think he is, he just not worth anywhere near 9mil he's making.

I think Ek was implying the Ryan injury hurts Detroit cuz they hoped to flip him for a draft pick. Even said, not sure what kind of quality draft pick Ek somehow thinks a team would actually have given up for Ryan!
