If the Hagg that showed up last night can play like that 85% of the time over the course of an 82 game season he may be able to hang around for awhile.
The potential for Myers is there no doubt. Even in his bad games he'll still make a few good plays. Being 6'5 and right handed always helps. Let's not forget he was an undrafted free agent so he's made some extraordinary leaps. |

agree, wonder if with the time Hagg saw himself on video and made some changes or it was just he was jacked up for game 1.

Wonderful. Do you think he anticipates play well as a defenseman? - Peter Richards
I'm just making you aware of the situation. At time yes. When he has support, he does fine in his reads. His issues have been a period where he was non competitive on the puck and around the crease. At times he has lost awareness of his checks. It's not an issue of hockey IQ. It's an issue of support and needing experience. It's not easy breaking into the NHL as a young defenseman when a team plays well defensively and structurally. Far more difficult when it doesn't. Even more difficult when that player is asked to play an elevated role. Most young defenseman are breaking easy playing in a reduced role and gradually elevated. Any claims that Myers sucks or will never get it is just plain ignorance |

Myers has sucked this year. Not sure how you can say otherwise.
Also someone claiming he will never get it isn't ignorance; it is their opinion is it not? |

Well for one it would prove that you have no idea what you're talking about concerning Myers.
So here is my follow up question. If you, joe fan, sees and thinks that Myers stinks, doesn't get it and never will. Why would an NHL GM protect that player in the expansion draft? Why would an NHL GM protect a player that stinks, doesn't get it and never will? - MJL
As PT Barnum stated: "there is a sucker born every minute"; that is why you protect Myers. Oh, and one other reason is the Flyers have no one better on the team to protect!

Don't forget the capital 'S'! Say it like you mean it! Myers has Sucked this year!
And I don't worry about MJL calling me ignorant, because that's just code to mean he thinks I'm a genius! |

So no fire sale yet? What happened with this club?
There is no decency nor accountability anymore.
I remember years when Flyers had a brand and much lower threshold for unacceptable.... I miss those years...

Losing coverage/awareness or his coverage has no relation to hockey iq? - Peter Richards
If that's the case, then the entire team's got low hockey IQ.

Myers can’t be in the top two pairs right now. That’s the problem.. too many d who should be bottom pair d. We got two dmen who can play in the too 4 and none of the others really should be slotted anywhere higher than 5.
They gotta start w the first pair. That’s why other teams best players light us up cause we cant get any decent matchups.

Losing coverage is not iq. But awareness of the play where it is going, where players are on the ice is a large part of hockey iq. Yes there has been a lot of lapses this year. No one is disbursing that. You two love the term hyperbole. This start with me saying he is athletic. Yes very. But not sure he has a great hockey iq. As he consistently has awareness issues, has been susceptible to patterns ( beat on same play multiple times) and hasn’t adjusted. Not saying he is bad, just question what his actual hockey iq is.

I think they should make Seth Jones the main target this off-season. Hope the kraken picks up voracek and try to dump some salary. Maybe try to get Johnny hockey his value has diminished. Should have taken cole caufield over York. That kid is a damn fine sniper |

Responses like this aren't a good look for you. So you're telling me that the Flyers don't have anyone better than a player you claim SUCKS with an S, and doesn't get it and never will? Why am I not surprised.
What we can do is actually explore that. Find out if they actually do. If we take on that exercise, we'll find out that the statement that the Flyers have no one better on the team to protect is just another in a long line of poorly thought out comments. |
