Good, bookmark it. If you know anything about me by now, you know I am not afraid to voice a controversial take and not shy about saying I was wrong if I turn out to be wrong. I trust my player evaluation skills, and I stand by my opinion of Myers, and if I were you, I wouldn't push too many chips Myers way.

More ridiculous hyperbole. Myers does not stink. He is a young player that has had his struggles to play on a team that as a whole has not played well defensively. Someone repeatedly claiming that Myers stinks, should not be questioning what games people are watching or questioning what someone has figured out. Not with that track record.
- MJL

I don't how the weather is on planet Delusia, but here on Earth my track record is really good.

1. I said the Flyers lacked shoot first players with skill, I was right.
2. I said the Flyers would not make the playoffs, I was right.
3. I said the Flyers younger players were overrated, I was right.
4. I said people should not expect anything from Lindblom and Patrick, I was right.
5. I said Hayes should have been benched several weeks ago, I was right.
6. I said Morin should not be playing wing and that we needed his size and physical play on the backend, I was right.
7. I said Myers Sucks with a capital 'S' and yesterday he was benched for Haag, sooooo I was right!

Want me to keep going?

Myers was scratched because Myers stinks, that is the reason. I don't know what games you are watching, but if you haven't figured out by now Myers is not good, I'm not sure what to tell you. Besides the two bad plays from Provorov last night in the first period, I thought the Flyers D played one of the best games I have seen them play this year, especially given Morin's bullsh*t ejection in the first period.

Who is the best sniper in the game today? Is it Ovechkin? His shootout career percentage is 31.2%. No where near the lead in his team or in the league.
- MJL

Hey, I'll take 31% on this team, it would be an improvement!

I’m was shocked by the call on Sam. Wtf is the league doing anyway? Ed would have called Bettman after seeing that. It was a push and not even a hard one. That’s a 2 min boarding call. That’s it. Then fir good measure they miss a similar call on us.

What I think we need to be clear on is that we need more team toughness and not fighters. The new nhl you need guys that can play and stick up for teammates/punish opponents without fighting. Sure, drop the mitts now and again, but understand that fights are rare. Matt Martin ovbviously comes to mind, but there are others. It drives me insane too that a lot of games we have zero pushback. I mean that 9 0 debacle? We should have been running rangers through the board. Instead, we bent over and took it.

- Hextall271

Exactly what you said! Back in the days of real hockey a score like that would have led to fight after fight after fight on the ice. If you can't beat them on the score board then beat them down on the ice. At least act like you're engaged. Of a team drops 9 goals on you then that mean they ran through you all night long, with no pushback

Thia culture is not what I grew up a fan of. I grew up in Philly so I will always bleed orange and black but my God is it hard to cheer for this group of softies. If I didn't grow up q fan I would not even give this team the satisfaction of viewing them

I don't know how to fix this without a tear down of the core.. and we have been saying this for years and it's abroken record now.
Slow starts. No push back. Horrid special teams. Lackluster player performance. It really looks like this team did not give a poop on several different nights and that is unacceptable. I don't want to see a rebuild happen but I don't know how to retool your core without major shake ups. Something has to happen, though.

We all want to see changes made but how do we do it? Who do we ship out and who do we hope to acquire this off-season?

And I don't even blame CF. This is a horrible time to have to retool with a flat cap and nobody taking on salary. I don't blame CF just yet but everyone below him, especially the assistant coaches, need to be discussed about replacing. Therrien can go chop wood. I'm done with him and his sub par product on ice product

Sure, but you never said Andrew MacDonald was an absolute top 4 defenseman.
So you are clueless.

You know what, I just had a revelation.
the Flyers are playing Justin Braun on the top D pairing.
Absolute top pair defenseman.

Did I hear this correctly last night? They said Coots was the only Flyers player with a successful shootout attempt THIS YEAR. If true, unbelievably pathetic and I am going back to turning off the tv when overtime ends.
- backfire

I think Nolan Patrick scored in the shootout once this year, but that's it. It's pretty sad how bad they are in the shootout, but it's been like that with the Flyers since day one.

I thought this was a chance for the Flyers to beat the Isles in a must win game. Usually after a big trade a team is inserting those new players into the lineup and you can take advantage of that. The Isles looked out of sync most of the night with the exception of the beginning, but the Flyers lack of finishers reared it's ugly head. I mean, where the hell have JVR and Farabee been? This is why JVR is on my hit list this off season. He looked totally engaged and on fire early in the season, and then he completely vanishes and it appears he's taken Farabee with him. Hayes still looks like he is visiting Mars although at least I noticed him a couple of times last night. Hart looked good after that second goal(thought he lost his net there) and he looked like the Hart of last year in the SO(nothing you can really do when a guy pings one off the post and in). They look better, but the time for moral victories has come and gone my friends.
- Phillywhiteout

Two really good insights I highlighted in bold, nice! Farabee's decline coincides with JVR's predictable swoon.

Seems like all the Flyers shooters are pretty predictable in the shootout, which might have a direct correlation to why they suck at it!

Farabees attempt was awful, I hate the AV didn’t have Jake go, he had a really strong game he should have shot

JVR pointless in his last 8 games, and no points in 12 of 13 games.

From leading scorer to healthy scratch any day now.

G has played as well as we can expect him to play given where he is in his career, he is not the problem on this team, though I would like him to give up the 'C'.

Yea he has been the main driver in our few wins for March, shows up to the games. At this point I can’t leave him blameless on the overall team taking periods and games off though. Him giving up the C would do nothing

I know, however I was thinking about this last night. Jake is really not good in shoot-outs, and maybe AV wanted to get Farabee a chance to try to build some confidence in him. He is squeezing it right now. I really think AV should give him a game or two off, let him clear his head and reset, and then get back at it. The kid really cares and is really trying, and he is feeling the pressure, you can see it.

I think it would, its symbolic but it does allow for new voices. It can't hurt if Giroux agrees to do it.

Good because with your posts you're going to need to use the skill of admitting you're wrong a lot. Anyone who makes the statement that young players are what they are, does not have player evaluation skills that can be trusted. That statement is completely disqualifying. Myers is going to be a real solid player in this league for a bunch of years.

So let me ask you a question that maybe you can answer using those player evaluation skills. Barring any trades between now and then, which defenseman do you think the Flyers will protect in the expansion draft?

The point goes to show how understanding the shootout is important. It's not snipers who are necessarily good in the shootout. In fact many of them are not.

Ok, I am bookmarking this one along with your other great statement that "the Flyers already have 4 legitimate top 4 defenseman"

So let me ask you a question that maybe you can answer using those player evaluation skills. Barring any trades between now and then, which defenseman do you think the Flyers will protect in the expansion draft?

Ok, come on, that is such a sneaky question that you know all too well the answer to.
