i don't care who is traded just shake up this roster
- 2Real

Someone call Homer. He'd kick in the dressing room door, rip the players, and have someone traded before they had Corn Flakes the next morning.

They could but you run the risk of a bidding war upping the ante. You probably lose any chance at a hometown discount also.
- MJL

Hometown discount. Yeah shot at a long term deal and he gives a discount. Sure why not. He can set an example for selke and clode

I don’t think they should or will get a first for him. If someone overpays and puts that on the table I would take it. Otherwise, unless you don’t think you’re resigning him for a reasonable deal (he’s a goner, etc) I wouldn’t rock the boat for the reasons above to snag a third rounder or something

York is what makes Sanheim more palatable to move. That and we still have Ghost around until York is ready.
- Tomahawk

I would prefer the Flyers go into next year with Provorov, (A really good defenseman acquired in trade like Jones, Ellis or Ekholm) and Braun as their veterans, and pair them with York, Sanheim and Morin, with Zamula or Attard as the 7th defenseman. This presumes Myers and Ghost are traded.

Patrick won't get moved at the deadline. Maybe an offseason move but even so I highly doubt that would happen too.

I honestly don't know his value. I'm just waiting for the offensive side to click.

- Pelle31Forever

Besides Laughton and Gust moving at the deadline, I don't see the Flyers bringing in anyone new until the offseason.

Again, you need to read back. You are incorrect.

Why would you want young players sitting at 7th defenseman?

They are probably two of your most tradable assets that you could reasonably part with to be fair
- stayinthefnnet

i suspect that patrick isnt going to be traded. he's an RFA on a really cheap contract who hasnt done anything to warrant a substantial raise. he is a #2 overall and maybe there's still someone out there with stars in their eyes thinking he's going to be the 2nd best player out of that draft. i don't think so.

laughton is a really useful player who is still reasonably young and on a cheap contract. as a UFA he won't be taking up a protection slot in the ED. if its true that extension talks are not proceeding well, then i would expect the flyers to move him.

To be fair 6 weeks ago I would have probably said Myers....but every once in a while Sanheim starts to use his speed and I start to see some advancement....Myers has just regressed....so the play of both have changed my mind.

Edit: if I HAD to pick one.

- jd250

Not to be Johnny Raincloud or anything, but does Gust have any real trade value at this point? Are there any playoff bound teams requiring a 7th or 8th defenseman? I suppose that there is, but not much return value I don't think.

I don't know about Laughton. I think he stays. But otherwise you're right. Offseason is when the noise happens.

There is nothing in Bill's answer that even remotely suggests that he agrees with you. Why don't you ask him if Myers SUCKS?

A roll of stick tape is a tangible asset.

What? You mean a version of Scott Laughton that can't skate, won't hit and can't score unless pucks bounce off his butt?
- jd250

Patrick’s last few games have been decent, if he can consistently be hard on pucks I don’t see why not. He’s already good defensively and in the face off circle

the flyers will probably have to retain some salary too. i mean, it doesnt matter since the flyers won't be adding at the deadline and the money vanishes the moment the season is over, but still...

If they move Laine, I could see them being interested in Konecny. If not, they'll probably want a turnkey top-6 center to play w/ Laine.
- Tomahawk

Columbus needs a center for Laine
It would be foolish to let him go
Laine is 5 months older than Nolan Patrick and score 120 more goals on two teams what misused him
