yeah, I guess if the assets are interesting enough it could work
- Pat1993

I still think Vince Dunn is a better fit, will come cheaper (St-Louis can’t pay him next year) and will be easier to fit under the cap.

for sure, and that's why a guy like Ekholm would be a welcomed addition as well, they need someone to play in the top 4 so that everyone falls in the right chair.. adding a depth 6th D wouldn't help the team a whole lot
- Pat1993

Ekholm would be great but I don't think he's available unless you overpay a great deal

it was more of an example, but yeah it sounds like he's very coveted right now by other teams so there's surely an "auction effect" going on there

Add to that the Preds are now a playoffs team. With Josi down, would be a little surprising from them to trade their best D this season...

these players have such a strong and positive influence that they can generate goals from the bench

I mean, "expected goals" didn't sound ridiculous enough?

...but I'm not the good audience for it. I have absolutely no interest in advanced stats.

Is he better than Mete?

He's the 3rd most used D on Detroit and has the 2nd best +/- out of their regular top 6

For a 4th and a 7th?

oh well it's better than nothing I guess, and the habs have a lot of picks so if a 4th and a 7th does the trick then by all means, so be it... I'd rather get a player that significantly makes the D better but I'm aware it might not be an easy thing to do

I suspect the middle column is the statistic relative to the rest of the team on the ice, without that specific player, and hence how he is doing relative to the rest of the team.

you also have to do with what you can get on the market before tdl : https://www.thefourthperi...com/trade-watch-list-2021

The move you want might be easier to pull off in the offseason

This D needs a skilled puck moving Dman more than anything not just a slight upgrade on Mete.
