Well one thing is for certain.
We cannot keep sending Mete out there.
He's costing us every game. - Scabeh
Yea it's getting pretty bad in his case |

not a bad team for sure, but their d is pure garbage
they will meet their match in the playoffs - deadpoulet
Well every team in the north is flawed in some way. Leafs are probably the most complete since Campbell has been playing well (will it last?)
Which is why all four of them see this year as an opportunity to go deep in the playoffs.

Wish we'd trade him/ send him down/ Waiver him. Whatever.
Bring Fleury in here.

I think going into the season, none of us expected Price and Weber to fall off of a cliff. This team would be much more dangerous if we had the Weber and Price the season Price won all of his trophies. |

The D wasn't good enough before the Chiarot injury, adding Mete to the mix did more harm than good |

Each team has their weakness. Edmonton lacks depth. Toronto fold when it comes to a grinding game and Winnipeg has poor defense. Montreal don't have a proven #1 center (Danualt is Montreal's best and he's a great #2 option on a lot of teams).
As I said earlier to win we need to use the depth to our advantage, Sitting guys like Weber Staal and Perry so they have more in the tank in the playoffs is important. And if Drouin (last night) or any other player decide they need a rest maybe it's better to keep them in the press box instead of putting them on the ice to rest. There's no shame in losing but not giving 100%, that's not acceptable. |

He very well may be but until he learns how to defend it's all pointless and he's never scored or produced at a rate that makes up for his lack of any use in his own zone |

The only way he would prove useful is if he would accept that team doctors remove his legs and transplant them on Weber. |

He reminds me of a young Michael del Zotto.
Without the offense.

I want to see Primeau start on Saturday. This isn't a knock on Allen, this is shaking things up a bit in the hopes of motivating the team to take care of the kid. Maybe score some goals, be a bit tighter defensively.
Give Weber, Staal, and Perry a "therapy day" today, and let them rest instead of running them through practice. They need it. Badly.
Instead of KK on the wing, put Lek there. Despite his patented inability to score, he played a high tempo game. Have KK and Staal share centre duties. Staal gets defensive zone faceoffs, KK gets offense. Let KK learn from Staal. Can't hurt. |

I had the same idea, but with Suzuki. He's our worst centre at taking faceoffs.

I thought of that too didn't want to overcomplicate things. Suzuki is having the sophomore slump. He'll be ok in time. |

Allen was hugely disappointing last night. on the b2b you knew the team only had a goal or two in them so to see him spot Winnipeg 3 goals in the opening 12 minutes sucked. there was no chance to manage the game from that point on.

that he let Lewis get to that puck told us a lot. the defender should win that battle 10 times out of 10. it's basic, fundamental hockey. there's no reason for Lewis to get his stick on that puck there.

habs were 59% in the faceoff circle last night, I doubt that was the issue... someone mentioned Fleury earlier, I think it's time to give him a chance and send Mete back to Laval and have him play under Joel

For sure. It was a rookie coaching mistake to play him back to back, especially with travel involved, even if it was only from Toronto. Allen is a competent backup, but we can't just ride him the rest of the way out until Carey comes back. Primeau has earned his chance to go with his solid play in Laval. |

Yeah, and for what it's worth, he's better than he was at the same time last year. But he also had a "ok" season last year and raised his level of play during the playoffs.
Hopefully he finds a way to play at that next level consistantly at some point. |
