If Calgary is seriously shaking things up might be opportunity there. Plus canadian team no quarantine stuff to worry about.
Try and score Gio, Bennet, and Rittich. Get Flames to retain 50% on Gio.
Have to figure costing us a young d prospect maybe a forward, Freddy tossed in goin the other way, kerfoot. Probably a first and maybe a 3rd pick since they’re retaining? |

I honestly don't want any big moves at the deadline. I like our forward group. I don't think anybody moves the needle, except arguably Hall, but he's having a rough season, and rentals rarely pan out.
I would like to see us land some defensive depth if Sandin, etc. are not ready, because Marincin is our 7 right now, and that frightens me a bit. - gravyface
The forward group that played against MTL wont get it done against a LV, Boston or TB. Remember the Leafs have to go through some elite teams if they get out of the North to win the cup.
And that's only one "injury"...expect a couple by the 3rd and 4th rounds. |

He has another year left on his contract.
I sincerely doubt they retain 50% unless we are sending good stuff the other way.
I don't want to send good stuff the other way. |

Don't think CGY will take on cap for next year with the flat cap. I assume they aren't rebuilding.
Only two teams I could see doing it for higher picks and prospects is DET and Chicago. So in that scenario Mantha or Strome are possibilities.
Mantha at 4M(1.7M retained) for 3.3 years would be a hefty price. Robertson, 1st(maybe conditional) and Kerfoot I would think. |

Least when it goes back normal they’d be western conference?! Think he has a nmc too he’d have to waive but... if we are gonna spend assets go big or go home right?! |

Actually might save them if they didnt keep Freddy. Treliving is definitely looking at shuffling the roster from the sounds of it. Got to do something of he could be next. Young d maybe forward, kerfoot, an couple picks would accomplish that an put young players in. |

Rittich is terrible. I think he's worse than Hutch. I can't see any reason to get him.
I don't like Bennet at all. He's in his 6th NHL season and continues to score at a 12 goal / year pace, and insist that he's a top-6 player. Seriously. (frank) this guy.
I like Gio - but he's basically done. He's playing second pair in Calgary now and getting caved in. I can't see him helping us at this point in his career. |

But it also puts them at 3M cap in the hole for next season.
In a flat cap world and a team that actually has cap space next season AND isnt horrible like DET why would they give that up? One of the few teams who can be active in FA. They could get some solid deals with supply and no demand. |

I was saying this about Buffalo for the 2020-21 season. They had almost no one signed coming into the season. I thought they could grab some really good bargains and compete for a playoff spot.
I was very, very wrong. |

I thought the Staal acquisition and Hall signing were good moves. Staal looks even more done than I thought he was and Hall . . . well. We know how that's gone.

I see a major difference in Buffalo and CGY in terms of quality of teams....
but Buffalo did succeed and managed to sign a 1st line player for ONE year which is unheard of. It didnt work out but at least they will get a good prospect and a decent pick out of it.
CGY likely is a team contending for Hall for FA. Might be able to get him on a long term deal at a bit of a bargain. |

Kerfoot for Iafallo.
Dermott and Amirov for Savard and Korpisalo.
Plan the parade. - MaximusAurelius
he was pulled last night game after the 1st period. not sure if due to performance or injury me think it was performance as CBJ were down by 4 ish |

Kerfoot for Iafallo. - lateral move, dont see how this moves the needle at all
Dermott and Amirov for Savard and Korpisalo - swap out Amirov for the 1st, also Korpisalo is pretty meh...id pass on him - senstroll
Iafallo is an upgrade over Kerfoot in basically every aspect.
Savard would play with Rielly, finally giving Rielly a true RHD partner that can defend.
Brodie would play with Muzzin.
Holl to 3rd line.
Adding an extra goalie in Korpisalo would help, and Leafs could consider going with him and Campbell as a tandem (plus Woll as 3rd goalie) and use andersen's capspace to resign Hyman and address Other priorities.
Adding these 3 players would make Leafs a legit contender

Korpisalo is not the goalie who played vs the Leafs in the playoffs - he is Andersen at a smaller salary. Woll hasn't done anything to warrant him being the 3rd string goalie on any NHL team, he has sucked balls at the AHL level.
Your evaluation of goalies is way off. |

Woll hasnt been good with Marlies because the Marlies Team sucks, only a few good player on the roster. Better to play him in NHL than let him drown in AHL.
Next season Liljegren and Sandin should be on Leafs as well |

Iafallo might be a very slight overall uptick, but hes a UFA..so a wash basically
I dont get you Brodie has been everything the team has needed..for a parnter for Rielly. Rielly cant defend at all...just terrible..Brodie is like on another planet.
sometimes I question how you watch a game
but I assume its just a ridiculous hate/bias of what Dubas does you cant overcome |
