“Specifically, LeBrun notes that Bowman has been talking to the Maple Leafs about a trade that would free up some space in Toronto.
The Maple Leafs have been searching for a forward for some time, but it has not been going well. Not only are the Leafs dealing with a cap crunch, but their targets keep disappearing from the market too. Frank Seravalli reports that Toronto had previously shown strong interest in both Palmieri and Nashville’s Mikael Granlund; Palmieri is now an Islander and the Predators are in playoff position. The team will have to look elsewhere, but don’t expect them to turn to Taylor Hall. While Darren Dreger notes that interest in Hall is picking up with Palmieri off the market, Seravalli notes that the Leafs are not a suitor. Both Hall’s cap cost and the asking price to acquire him are thought to be too much for GM Kyle Dubas. That could change if Toronto finds a way to open up cap space and the bidding war for Hall fizzles out, but it seems unlikely that a deal will come together by Monday if the Leafs have shown no interest thus far.”

Not that I actually think the Leafs are in on Hall, but I have absolutely no faith in anything Seravalli has to say about the Leafs. Every opinion he has has been specifically against the Leafs. I recall him saying for 2 years that Laine was better than Matthews. Lots of objectivity.

I still don't think Hall is the option for Dubas. He generally is off the board with his trades.

no, since they are not at the top of the cap limit, they would need to add some $$ to get there, in order to put freddy on LTIR...but they cant then accrue anymore space in the coming days (however little) and they used up any space they saved up this whole time to just put freddy on LTIR

they dont get freddy cap space to use as deadline space...

its something like that

its not confusing at all

It was rushed, and botched.

AZ has stated they will not take profits from the vaccine while the pandemic is on. The fact is there will be huge money to be made after the pandemic on just annual boosters like the flu shot. Sadly, that is what their bungling is all about. In the end, Janssen and Novavax are wringing their hands in happiness at AZ stupidity.

Having said all that, for now, I believe it is protective enough and timely enough for my purposes

My wife and I have agreed that even when we are both vaccinated we wont be doing much in Florida except spending time with my family. I wont be ready for crowds and/or large indoor gatherings for a while. Hopefully by this time next year it has simmered down significantly.

- Aetherial

There will likely not be a lot of money for vaccine manufacturers in annual covid shots, mainly de to competition (20+ vaccines will be available).
Maybe mRNA vaccines will now be able to quicker be developed as therapeutic cancer vaccines - that's a real cashcow.
In general, big pharma makes most money on drugs for chronic conditions (diabetes, blood pleasure other heart conditions etc) anyways.

Ps ROOPE 4 point night!

51 is an excellent age

-------
7.5 pts behind, but with 3 more players/days than your opponent.
I'd say you've got a 60-40 chance to get the W.

Ya I dont see Hall as a target for the leafs, not the best fit, plus his cap.
I dont see anyone with term coming in unless term/cap is moved out. The leafs cap situation isnt great and if they want to sign Hyman they cant afford to bring in any term.

And Friedman says Hall is a possibility so there you go. I don’t think there’s a problem with finding a way to make the money work f they decide he’s the guy

There’s no term, he’s a rental. Dubas is a hard guy to read but I would guess he really doesn’t want to be seen not to have acted when they have a shot.

I think Friedman is right when he says they are after the best forward or the best forward who fits. If Hall doesn’t really fit, cool. But then the question is are you happy to add to the third line as your big move? Or is there another second line upgrade?

On Hall he's got that NMC and it sounds like maybe his agent (Ferris) may be angling for a trade to a place where he can get a new contract.

Although a long playoff run racking up points dishing to Matthews can't be a bad thing for your next contract.

spatso has created a list of potential trades for players if they dealt the 1st

strangley, the Leaf options are a no go

Marner: cap hit too big for a perimeter player (no show in playoffs)
Nylander: less than Marner, rather have Connor Brown
Tavares: even worse option than Cary Price

It's still insane that McDavid is 18 points up on Kane.
