So far he has made very minor signings that were more about building depth on the Phantoms than anything else. I am willing to see what he does this off season. If he doesn't move the needle substantially forward I will be calling for him to be fired. We need a smart, but aggressive GM that is going to move this barge forward!

Are you forgetting that Fletcher signed Hayes?

I’m at the sell point. If Laughton gets you a first you take it and don’t care where he goes for that. Maybe a handshake agreement he comes back. But that first could be invaluable come expansion draft. Right now as constructed you have provy, Samhain, and Myers which you will protect. Now I think we have to look at morin as a keeper. He’s showing promise and he’s been out with injuries for a year a time. I think if it’s necessary you throw the kraken that first to take a player like jvr or similar instead of poaching a younger dman. What’s on the forward group that would be exposed that the kraken would take ? Linblom
? Patrick ? I doubt that.

- jmdodgeser4

Morin is a UFA. He does not need to be protected.

Why wouldn't Seattle take a chance on Patrick or Lindblom? I would. I would also consider a UFA offer to Morin.

Flyers are owned by Comcast now, there will be major moves made this offseason. The last thing Comcast wants is a stagnant Flyers team.
- KGBflyers10

They have been stagnate since 2012. One playoff series "bubble" win since than.🤧

Trochek haha come on man, that’s your example. Aho and svechnikov, neither guy is more impactful than Coots
- ClaudeFather

This year: Trocheck 1.07 pts/game, Couturier 1.04 pts/game, Aho 0.95 pts/game; so actually they are!

Morin is a UFA Group 6, meaning he did not accrue enough games by the time he reached 25 years old, so the Flyers still hold his rights.

2006 draft Flyers had 3 second round picks. Nodl, Ratchuk, Bodrov. They passed over Brad Marchand 3 times. How do you rate that?
- PLindbergh31

How many teams passed on Claude Giroux? Rick Tocchet? Bobby Clarke?

That Boston team you're talking about had 3 shots at Barzal, Boeser, Connor and Chabot and ended up with none of them.

Talking in hindsight is pretty silly.

Yes, but how many of those teams had Ron Hextall, the greatest drafter and builder of franchises the NHL has ever seen?

They actually lose his rights b/c he didn't accrue enough games

Only partially correct. The Flyers do not hold his rights after this season. He will be a UFA.

Marchand was drafted during Bob Clarke's tenure... and laugh all you want, but Hexy's probably gonna win ANOTHER Cup in management before the Flyers end their drought.

I for one don't find this amusing at all. I may argue with him, but I like the real MJL a lot and don't like to see him made fun of this way. If you have a problem with him, stand up as yourself and make the argument, but this is just childish!

He's not making fun of me. He's making fun of himself. He just doesn't realize it. My advice, just ignore it.
